To correct you, his best role is supposed to be striker. However he is better in the number 10 role, but still not good enough. He should be passe by now, in the fringes, on the bench, in the stand or maybe gone, whatever type of player he is.

Winning the European cup 30 years ago and not signing a player in the same window are not the same thing though. It wouldn't be the first signing to resurrect if he doesn't want to move to the US so he may lower his expectations.
