weller54 Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 This is the summer transfer window all over again!!! Don't be so facetious. Everyone wanted him, they just kept it a secret. I want that kid from MK Dons now, Alli. ....Bongo?
psychonaut Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Hopefully in for someone else that plays a similar role.
Lovejoy Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Don't be so facetious. Everyone wanted him, they just kept it a secret. I want that kid from MK Dons now, Alli. Watched the Dons a few times this season when Leicester haven't been playing, he's a real talent. Still very raw and decision making isn't there yet but bags of potential and he's a big lad.
johnny the fox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Thank fook we couldn't agree a deal with Ipswich for mcGoldrick..he is absolutely dog doos..
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Still struggling to see why people don't trust Nige with signings. Powell was a waste of time, Upson is proving to be a waste of time, Bakayogo was a waste of time, Futacs was a waste of time, just off the top of my head, I can't see our new goal keeper being anything other than expensive old man getting splinters in his arse as well. Don't get me wrong he's more hit than miss but lets not pretend he gets it right every time.
LCCFox96 Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Not bothered by the fact Maloney isn't coming in as long as we can find another wide player to strengthen our options.
MPH Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Leicester City’s talks with Shane Maloney have collapsed, the Mercury understands. City had agreed a deal with the Scotland international’s club, Wigan Athletic, and opened talks with Maloney over a potential move to the King Power Stadium. However, after several days of talks a deal could not be reached which suited both parties and City will now turn to alternative targets. City had drawn up a deal with Wigan worth around £750,000 for Maloney, who is out of contract at the end of the season. Maloney is still expected to leave Wigan with the MLS a likely destination. It is the second time a deal to try to bring a Latics player to City has fallen through after the collapse of the James McArthur transfer in the summer. City have alternative targets and remain interested in Japan international Shinji Okazaki at German club Mainz. Jon the Hat Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Makes you wonder what Wigan were paying them for them to turn down a move to a prem team.... If he is talking to MLS teams then what he is earning now is not that relevant. You could imagine MLS offering him a 3 year deal an a decent wedge. Why would he come to Leicester for 2 years when he can get a longer deal in the summer, probably at a better salary.
Vlad the Fox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 We can't hang around all transfer window waiting while agents and players play games to secure deals. For me we are right to walk away if it is looking like it's going to drag on and the player is not showing enough desire to join, he's not a prime target so there will be other suitable options.
foxfanazer Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Fair play to both parties for walking away amd not being held to ransom. Got no problem with that whatsoever
Finn Claw II Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Decent squad addition, so somewhat frustrating but not heart breaking. My bet is that we offered a 1.5 year deal and he wanted more. It is the Dyer situation again. At his age madness to not want one last crack at the premiership. Time for his MLS holiday.

Don't get me wrong he's more hit than miss but lets not pretend he gets it right every time. It's the same all round though isn't it. Fergie signed Massimo Taibi amongst many others who failed massively. Mourinho, whom I rate immensely, is in the process of flogging Mo Salah who's done sod all at Chelsea.
johnny the fox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Thank Christ we didn't offer Upson three years ..

Mourinho, whom I rate immensely, is in the process of flogging Mo Salah who's done sod all at Chelsea. Bit harsh on Salah. He's still a decent player its the fact he's got a world class player in hazard ahead of him and a pretty decent winger in Willian too.

That's why the why can't we trust Nigel's signings argument is stupid.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Fcukin meatball stained, greasy MLS. Fcuk you I feel like Raoul Moating someone. That's not Raul Moatly funnyTaxi for one
MrSpaM Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Says it all if he'd prefer to go and rot in the MLS with all the other premier league OAP's, he's in it for money and nothing else
Fox92 Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Harsh on Upson. We don't know what he brings off the field. Nige said last season that regardless of minutes played, Hammond, GTF and Phillips were a big influence off the pitch because of their experience. Can see the same with Upson.
Karljohn Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Never wanted him anyway, enjoy crossing balls for Waggy in league 1 you greedy little bastard.
Guest Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Thank Christ we didn't offer Upson three years .. Why? He may be fit in a couple of years.
Xen Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Harsh on Upson. We don't know what he brings off the field. Nige said last season that regardless of minutes played, Hammond, GTF and Phillips were a big influence off the pitch because of their experience. Can see the same with Upson. Exactly. Our defence has improved a lot in the last 5-6 weeks, and I dont think it's a coincidence that it's coincided with Upson able to take a more active role in training. Of course there are other influences (I.e. Hamer), but id be shocked if Upson getting fitter doesn't have something to do with it.
