ScouseFox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 yeah gonna be edgy and agree with everyone with common sense and say mahrez, wasyl & ulloa. one creates stuff, one scores goals and one ruins opposition. all great at their jobs.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 I would love for Wasyl to win player of the season for us.
Danizen Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 I don't think we've had a star player, yet. Mahrez, Ulloa and Wasyl have been good but not brilliant. Everyone else has fallen short of whats been expected of them, in my opinion.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Thats rubbish. Between Marhez, Was & Ulloa for me, Schluup has improved as the season has gone on so I'm sure he will be in with a shout. It's especially rubbish as he wasn't even in the fvcking team in our worst performances in that run
AKCJ Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Thats rubbish. Well, it's not. He looked like a pub team player for a large chunk of it. Only recently has he started to get on the ball, beat his man and do something dangerous with it. Up until then he tried to do every trick in the book and he's always lose the ball. I'm his biggest fan but I was ready to get rid of him if those performances continued. Good job Nige got that 'beat the world' mentality out of him. He's been the diamond of our team the past month or so, can't wait for him to return. It's especially rubbish as he wasn't even in the fvcking team in our worst performances in that run I think that proved my point. I'm afraid he was mate.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Mahrez? Are you lot joking? Yes he's hit top form now but he was probably our worst player during our bad run. Probably Wasyl for me, 7/10 or more every week. So dependable. Other than that i'd probably have to say Ulloa for his goals. But it's been a bit of a team effort, as it always is under Nige. Our worst player?! Are you the one who's joking? He's been unbelievable for 4/5 games before AFCON and was very good at the start of the season against Everton, arsenal etc. Can only remember Palace as an average game for him. Mahrez, schlupp, ulloa for me so far
sylofox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 What gets me on a vote like this is people look at the flare players. You can not lose if you don't concede but you can score four and lose. Was and Hamer for me. The Key to our survival is at the back even though we have kramaric. He hopefully will just make life easier for our back four.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 I think that proved my point. I'm afraid he was mate. Well, except he wasn't, but ok.
Guest Bilo Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Was has been monstrous. The death stare he gave Clarke was superb.
kingfox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Wasilewski the only player who has been pretty consistent.
ScouseFox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 the reason for our bad run was cos we didn't score and we didn't score because comfortably our best attacking player didn't get near the pitch for half of it. think akcj has completely lost the plot here.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 think akcj has completely lost the plot here. It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for him.

Mahrez, schlupp, ulloa for me so far Have a read again mate. I said he was one of our worst players during our bad run (Palace to Spurs). He's not been our best player this season. Swansea in particular sticks out as one of the worst performances of the season.
Bamba's Babes Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Nobody has been consistent this season. Not buying into the Wasyl lovefest, still conceding stupid goals when he was in the team. Moore got dropped after Newcastle, we still didn't win for another 6/7 games after that. Without Ulloa we'd be dead and buried but he has non-effective performances at times. Mahrez is our most talented player and was on fire before he left for AFCON, started the season slow-ish though. The only consistent player has been Konchesky, consistently awful.
ScouseFox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 during our "bad run" (palace to spurs as akcj states it) mahrez won motm 3 times in 13 games (4 of which he didn't play), and was voted best player of october, and came second for both november & december. he put in 5 of the top 7 outfield scoring performances in that run, too. and akcj has just said he was our worst player?!

Palace - Came off the bench. Burnley - Played well and scored. Newcastle - Didnt play. Swansea - ****ing woeful. WBA - Dropped to bench. Southampton - Didn't play. Sunderland - Atrocious. QPR - Subbed, awful. Liverpool - Did he touch the ball? Villa - Made the goal with a deflected shot, the first sign of positive play from him in weeks. Mahrez - Unfair to criticise, everyone had a bad game and we played a good side. West Ham - Jesus christ... Spurs - Dead unlucky not to score a wonder goal. Never played lads...

Despite hardly playing in that bad run? If we take the bad run to start post burnley, he played one game between then and the next half-decent performance (Sunderland at home), and then played regularly as performances improved, and was a key player when results improved. You're talking out your 'arris.

Sunderland (H) voted motm, i didn't go so can't comment but not gonna take your ridiculously wrong word over the rest of the forum but yeah, awful in both games. that run goes MOTM, didn't play, MOTM, didn't play, didn't play, MOTM from burnley to sunderland, which was performance wise our worst run. he also made the goal vs liverpool but let's not argue over such small margins, because we all know you're wrong.

Palace - Average, but not the worst player on the pitch Burnley - Scored 1, created the other... obviously MOTM Newcastle - Didn't play Swansea - poor, out of position West Brom - didn't play Southampton - didn't play Sunderland - played, performance a lot better, but for Pantillamon we'd have won QPR - played, good attacking performance (but for Vardys lack of composure, we'd have been 3-0 up before QPR even realised the match had kicked off) Liverpool - Created the goal, decent performance Villa - played, team performance average but better than Newcastle-Southampton Man City - played, great team performance, arguably deserved a point West Ham - played, not great but not the worst player on the pitch Spurs - Played, on any other day we'd have won comfortably. then plays a key role in the revival. Where in that was he our worst player? He plays well, dropped and team performances plummet, come back in and we improve... There's being controversial and there's being stupid. You're the latter - being controversial, your arguments are at least not factually wrong.

Let me point out that I said "one of our worst players". Given that we didn't win in 12 games, there weren't many candidates for the 'star' player. This forum spaffs it's knickers whenever he flicks his hair. It's a biased view. Easy to say "he was the one that looked like doing something" but it's no good when you don't actually do anything I'd be amazed to learn if he made a successful pass in the Swansea game. Yes he got on the ball a lot, but he gave it away on every occasion. He didn't 'make' the Liverpool goal. Leo's persistence did. We scored 8 goals in 12 games and we think our 'creative player' was the star performer? Come on lads, it's not rocket science.
The Doctor Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 We scored 8 goals in 12 games and we think our 'creative player' was the star performer? Come on lads, it's not rocket science. Correct - it isn't. Everything bright came through him and our worst performers were our strikers, who looked low on confidence and spurned easy chance after easy chance. So, if a creative player creates the chances and a striker doesn't take them, who's not done their job? Who's performed poorly?
ScouseFox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for him. i think kingfox has hacked his account. is that right, akcj? i can't think of a reasonable explanation for you to have suddenly turned into a full on retard.
