Scotch Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Sky Sports are this morning reporting that as well as Robert Huth,we are trying to secure highly rated Man Utd target Aleksandar Dragovic on a short term loan from Dynamo Kiev. Seems like a weird one, chasing TWO centre halfs so I'm not sure how much truth is in this. They also reported that we have approached Feyenoord over Immers.
Xen Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Short term loan? He's probably a back up for in case the Huth loan falls through.
Scotch Posted 30 January 2015 Author Posted 30 January 2015 Short term loan? He's probably a back up for in case the Huth loan falls through. Yeah, good call. Good to see us having back-up options in place.
indierich06 Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Would be a great signing, can't see us competing with United if they really want him though. Can't see it being a similar situation to Kramaric, I think if Dragovic went to United, he'd be playing.

Can't see it being a similar situation to Kramaric, I think if Dragovic went to United, he'd be playing. I think that IF it did happen,it would be more of a case of clubs preparing for bids in the summer with us loaning him until then. I think xen is prob right though,no doubt a contingency for Huth not coming.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 If we can steal a player of Chelsea why not Man United
Babylon Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Linked with one player: "why don't we target more than one person at a time". Linked with two players: "why we signing two players".
CosbehFox Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Alongside Kramaric, one of the best prospects in Europe. A long-shot but what a coup!
Bettsj2 Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Utd are supposed to have bid £15m for him. Cant see this happening. Unlike the Kramaric/Chelsea situation, Utd do actually need quality defenders so he'd probably play.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Linked with one player: "why don't we target more than one person at a time". Linked with two players: "why we signing two players". With upson now available what's the problem, we don't need any
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Given the way our club does business I'd imagine only a small proportion of our targets/interests get reported, we've probably got a lot of players on our radar, only a few of them get reported.
Lovejoy Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Would blow a load if we get him, cracking defender.
LCCFox96 Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 He's a solid up and coming defender. Feel he might be out of league at the moment though. If we could do a loan - and possibly slip in a permanent clause - I wouldn't be object though!
Babylon Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 With upson now available what's the problem, we don't need any Not the point I was getting at, but I'll answer anyway. We currently have one defender with previous premier league experience, he's about 36 and been out injured since the second he arrived. There are no guarantees he's going to be fit enough or good enough now with so long out. The other options are a 34 year old we're expecting to play every game, Wes Morgan who has made his fair share of clangers and Liam Moore who has looked out of his depth fairly often this season. I would think it's clear why we are going for another CB. We're covering our bases just in case. Injuries and suspensions can happen and without enough cover we're going to be very short in that position. People said "we don't need 5 cm's", but almost every week we seem to be missing two or three of them. People moan about left back quality which is fair enough, but if we need to cover that position we have enough players.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 If we can steal a player of Chelsea why not Man United Depends if he'd be anywhere near the starting XI at Man Utd, if Kramaric could get first team football at Stamford Bridge, do you really think he'd be here?
Rhysm Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 With upson now available what's the problem, we don't need any I hope you are joking. We would be mad to count on having him fit for consecutive games.
KFS Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 With Gabriel now at Arsenal and Man U looking at Hummels, maybe we're waiting on those moves to decide this? Hence the Huth move
Liamlcfc1 Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 According to this he has turned down a Loan move to us http://www.squawka.com/news/reports-man-utd-hopes-of-signing-mats-hummels-boosted-by-dortmunds-interest-in-aleksandar-dragovic/287343
Clever Fox Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 A great signing if it happens even at 15 milion. A positive at last Pearson is beginning to realise that good players can be cheap even at 15 million. look at Bony Swansea paid 12 and sold for 30 Million. It also shows were prepared to make a move to try and guarantee safety.
Spicer Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 I rate Dragovic highly. But honestly he can and will do better than us at the current time.
foxfanazer Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Wow! Absolute quality player! If only this was true
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 With upson now available what's the problem, we don't need any First, we need to see Upson play in a City shirt - for a prolonged period of time. Why we can't wait? Transfer deadline day today. No more time available for another four to five months after that.
Master Fox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Alongside Kramaric, one of the best prospects in Europe. A long-shot but what a coup! We all know now that is total rubbish .
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 We all know now that is total rubbish . As someone who has seen Dragovic turn up for Basel multiple times, both on the domestic and international stage, it's safe to say you're being not just a little, but quite mistaken.
