Like many others I'm sure, I am seesawing between different explanations as to what happened tonight.

 

I want to believe Sky were totally wrong and have made asses of themselves, but then I doubt they would've gone public unless they had something pretty sound to go on.

 

Be interesting to see what other people think happened.

This. Even some of those who were critical of him were shocked and slightly disappointed at his dismissal. I hope this surprise false news rallies the fans together for big performance at Arsenal!

I think the majority are probably right.

I think he quit but probably unofficially in the heat of the moment. 5Live reported that he went yesterday and the Mail are citing sources close to his staff. Something and nothing which has been blown out of proportion. Either that or somebody representing Pearson forcing the club to come out and support him publicly. I seem to remember something similar happening in the past, via his agent on TalkSport or something.

Good points something's happened here for sure could be do we don't we on the board meeting but I doubt they got this wrong time will tell but somehow I feel we haven't heard the last of this he may remain in charge for the arsenal game but after that I think he'll be gone pearson fans don't get your hopes up !

i think there is no smoke without fire. they want NP gone but, like we were all discussing here last night, there is no valid candidate to replace him

Would love to think it was the first option but think it's more likely to be option 2. Can't believe Sky sports etc went with it without confirmation though, don't think we'll get much favourable press anymore

mental if the owners were genuinely thinking of doing it but didn't cos of the fan reaction. they already got rid of him once and the fans reacted badly, then got him back and most were delighted. why did they need to do it again?!
