Babylon Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 It's ages ago, but I think I said that I wanted the Thais to publically come out and say that Pearson gets TWO seasons in the job, to stop any rumour and discussion about him being sacked. To nip it in the bud so to,speak. But they didn't. I think that's the point I was making but it's been so long ago, you'll probably correct me. And I think I said, if they said that, that's what he should get, ie they should stick with it. That's what I meant anyway. You said (several times) "I said right at the close of last season that we should stick with Pearson even if we get relegated". I only remember because I think I agreed with you... for once.
ScouseFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Good answer... And I hope you're right. I don't want to see Leicester City relegated. It would be a bloody disaster. i'd be gutted if we go down. however i don't think it'd be a disaster if we keep pearson. this is another plus point about him staying on board. sure nobody wants to give up on this fight to stay up yet, but we've got to have in the back of our minds all the time that we may go down either way. this squad (or as much of it as we can keep) with pearson in charge goes off as favourites to come back up, imo. or we could do a cardiff/fulham/wigan etc and keep seeing if we can get a new manager and a new scandal every few months and end up in complete crisis. how do we no the players are on his side. Clearly Albrighton isn't. well they were on his side in the last major incident, when they all refused to speak to radio leicester because they'd questioned their manager. that was about 6 weeks ago. i doubt much has changed since then to affect the relationship and mood between the manager and his squad. and it was albrighton's girlfriend who tweeted what she did, not albrighton. she doesn't play for us.
GingerrrFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 It's funny how when the side was doing well last season, barely any of these posters wrote a thing and now that the team is struggling they all come creeping out of the woodwork. You better pray we don't stay up because I'm lambasting all of you for time. I would ****ing love it if we avoid relegation and Nigel gives the minority the virtual middle finger.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 I trully wonder sometimes if people on this forum even care about winning football matches, playing well, staying up. So many people seem just content to keep losing matches and playing shit. I for one am just depressed with the same old bullshit week in, week out...and then people just making excuses for our limp attempt at winning football matches. I see other teams make CHANGES and some come off, some don't but at least they can say they bloody tried whilst we...like Villa just seem content on dross because its stable and safe. Its like when people drive the same old shit car until its run into the ground because its cheaper and your familiar with it. You couldn't possibly imagine getting a new car least of all one that isnt trued and tested. Carry on driving your Vauxhall Zafiras.....I fancy me a Hyundai or Toyota!!!! You'll find very few apologists for the run of form and plenty of people who back Pearson have criticised both his selections and tactics on more than one occasion when it's deserved. Nobody is content to lose every week, that's absurd - what a lot of people are (thankfully) appears to be tolerant and patient with somebody who has been the best fit for our club since O'Neill. Unfortunately a portion of our fan base have ridiculously unattainable expectations and have been brainwashed by the knee-jerk need for instant success the Premier League appears to represent. Plenty of people who support Pearson as well as the club will make no bones about it - this season feels like a huge missed opportunity, but if there's anything Pearson has shown during his time here it's that he's a brilliant learner. The last time he left the club turned into a circus, Sousa looked like a page of GQ magazine but lost the dressing room and turned a squad knit together by spirit into a bunch of unfit unco-ordinated aresholes, then Sven came along and did his level best to cripple us by spending champagne money on lemonade players. You'd think our fans would've learnt what's good for them after that horror story.
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 And i ask again, why the Lennon love in,based on a few honeymoon period wins at Bolton where anyone could do better than Freedman.Imagine Lennon overseeing a 4-1 defeat at Derby as Leicester manager, this forum would meltdown. He may turn out to be a great manager but lets give him a year at Bolton before suggesting he is the messiah.I thought a major criticism of Pearson was his lack of premiership experience. There's no 'love-in'. We were asked a question, I answered it. There is no reason why Neil Lennon should not be considered a decent candidate for the City job if Nigel got the push. That was what was asked.
seenitall Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 WE have just lost the last three league games chaps, including two at home...be interesting to see the old form table after the next three games but you never know, this all might have given the players a kick up the arse - if he plays Nugent and Vardy instead of Leo and Kram tomorrow though life will be grim (cue Nuge hat trick)
Babylon Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 And will you say the same thing if the club gets relegated? That sticking with the status quo is somehow trying? Of course I will say the same thing.... at some point they made the decision that they wouldn't sack Pearson, that they would back him and his team. Not only by sticking with him and not getting rid, but financially in January to sign a £6.3m - £9.5m striker (depending on what paper you read) Just because they took a course of action different to what you now want, doesn't mean they haven't done anything. They are trying what worked for them before, faith and time. This season has been a few points different to what I thought it would be. I expected to lose A LOT of games, we were always going to. If we hadn't conceded late against Burnley, if the ref at Liverpool hadn't gifted them two pennos... I wouldn't look at this season any differently, even though we could be out of the bottom three. It's been a long hard slog and it will continue to be... but we play all three of our biggest rivals. It could be, so to speak, still in our hands.
EnglishOxide Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Neil Lennon is completely unproven managing in England and hasn't pulled up any trees at Bolton. If he had never played for City nobody would be mentioning him. Absolute desperation. Correct. The 'Pearson out' brigade are clutching at straws here. Anyone remember how our last appointment who did well the SPL got on?
adam Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 well they were on his side in the last major incident, when they all refused to speak to radio leicester because they'd questioned their manager. that was about 6 weeks ago. i doubt much has changed since then to affect the relationship and mood between the manager and his squad. and it was albrighton's girlfriend who tweeted what she did, not albrighton. she doesn't play for us. hes clearly been talking to her. I realise she doesn't play for us.
ScouseFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 hes clearly been talking to her. I realise she doesn't play for us. ah yes every man and wife have mutual opinions on every matter in life.
funkyrobot Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 How many more times... Are you not reading the thread. Neil Lennon, for instance.Well done Col 1 suggestion. The vast vast majority of the 'NP out' comments offer nothing. That's my point. Have another read and you might see. And as for Lennon (who was a great player for us and whom I don't dislike). He is as stubborn as Pearson and has a history of run ins with fans, referees and fellow managers as long as your arm. He is unproven in the Championship, never mind the Premiership. He's only just taken a job at Bolton where I'd expect from his character that he'll show them some loyalty and stay for longer than a handful of games (he's no Megson). And yet Col, you suggest that he is the man to turn it around?
CosbehFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Steve McClaren anyone? would he come here?HahahahahahahahahahahahI'm sure a guy who has a better chance being in the PL in his current position will join us.
adam Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Hahahahahahahahahahahah why? done well at derby and the boro. offer him a few quid and you never no
CosbehFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 why? done well at derby and the boro. Yeh and why would leave a club with currently a greater chance of PL football than us?
adam Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Yeh and why would leave a club with currently a greater chance of PL football than us? if he comes here he would be in the PL surely.
nettle Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 It doesn't matter what names are put forward to replace Pearson you just get shot down in flames. The same old he's not good enough, no experience, crap manager from the SPL Blah , blah ....... What a load of old bollocks let's all stick with Pearson and the pearsonites!
funkyrobot Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 WE have just lost the last three league games chaps, including two at home...be interesting to see the old form table after the next three games but you never know, this all might have given the players a kick up the arse - if he plays Nugent and Vardy instead of Leo and Kram tomorrow though life will be grim (cue Nuge hat trick)Did u go on Saturday? Ulloa could well be dropped as he was useless. He might not though but guess what, I'll still support NP as I don't think there's ever a manager who picks an 11 that will please everyone. O'Neill never used to play Zagorakis and I didn't agree with that but I still liked and supported him. I've never understood NP's faith in Kingy but a lot of fans do and think he's mad for not playing him every match. I still support him though as realistically, if you put ten city fans in a room together and asked them to select their best 11, you'd get 11 different teams!
funkyrobot Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Wanted him out in November...wanted Pulis. What I want now is for people to stop defending the undefendable and accept he isn't here still because the Thais want him to be....he's here until better comes along...which won't be long...Mark W my words Well it's not November now and Pulis is at WBA so who do you suggest now?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Familiarity breeds content. *contempt Familiarity breeds content has absolutely no meaning.
MHC Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Not one of you in this thread demanding Pearson out has any suggestion for a replacement. Do you not see that this has to be a vital part of your argument and yet nothing. Aitor Karanka or alternatively Paul Clement.

That the anti Pearson brigade could not answer that question. So I said that's not true and gave an alternative. We disn't get onto the various merits, pitfalls of this. Cmon mate, read the thread.
cjslcfc Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Aitor Karanka or alternatively Paul Clement. See I would give Clement a chance. But bringing him in at this time is a bit of a baptism of fire for his first management role!!!
