BlueSi13 Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Can't they just open their eyes and see how shit Pearson is,he's not even a decent bloke he's just a twat.i Could understand if he was a likeable fella and then you'd want to stick by him even if he's shit but the fact hes a smug dick head, just makes me angry.ive never seen some one be so smug about being so shit at their job. Wow this post really opened my eyes. Completely changed my way of thinking. Pearson out too please. Thank you George mcfly.

funkyrobot Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Middlesbrough are third in the Championship and by no means guaranteed promotion, and there is no evidence to suggest that Paul Clement has rejected job offers, he has merely been linked with some top flight vacancies. I think we could get either if we wanted them enough and these are probably the two we should be looking at should we decide to part ways with Nigel Pearson. Of course having one of these lined up would be the best option before giving Pearson the chop. Also Karanka was at Real Madrid before going to boro I believe and he didn't turn them down and they're in the Championship.Sorry I thought Clement had rejected qpr and west brom. Reports back me up but presumably you know otherwise. As for Karanka yeh he's third but also 1 point off the top. We're a similar sized club and bottom of the premier league. I wouldn't be as confident as you about stealing him. Both are good names though but again no premiership management experience.
theessexfox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 We could have got zero points from the last 6 games instead of 7, the same amount as Man City. 5 more than QPR, 3 more than Hull, one more than Burnley... god knows what they make of their own form if ours is so awful. You're as bad for manipulating the statistics to suit your argument as the Pearson Outers when they produce ridiculous and unrepresentative evidence to support their opinion. I'm firmly in the Pearson In camp, but these statistics are twisted and the league does not lie, we are in an awful position as far as the 2014/15 league table is concerned particularly given our two recent home losses against winnable opposition.
funkyrobot Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 You're doing it again funky...I answered a question. That's all. Why are you reading so much into that? There are alternatives, was all that was asked, and then answered. Ok col stop being a politician. I don't want to see NP sacked. There, that's my opinion I may be wrong but that's how I feel. What do you honestly want? Stop sitting on the fence and be honest. If you want him out then say it and tell us who you want to replace him.
Eddy Kellys Heroes Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Pearson in. Dinosaur, semi-literate fans out. Zionist
NewburyFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 We wouldn't get Karanka. He's very happy at Boro (family there, kids happy in schools etc), they have a great chance of getting promoted, he's well backed by Steve Gibson and we will probably be in the Championship next season. It would be an incredibly odd decision for him to choose us if we wanted him.
Swiss_tony Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 No he's not. And if you think that Pearson is worse than O'Farrell (relegated, despite spending a UK-record fee on Allan Clarke) or Adams (who did get us relegated), you must have been watching a different team. Pearson, whatever you think of him, has a higher win percentage - in his first term - than any other City manager. And in his second term, he has a higher win percentage than any other City manager except himself in his first term. Apart from that, he hasn't achieved a thing. pearson is not even in the top five mangers we've had. in getting promotion to the top flight (at the third attempt) he's level with o farrell, wallace, milne, little and adams. not a great bunch if truth be told, compentent but limited. much like pearson himself.
bovril Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Great 1 down 15 to go What's the matter McFly?
George mcfly Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 What's the matter McFly? Let me give you a nickels Worth of free advice,it's nigel Pearson he's and embarrassing willy puller who just so happens to be one of the worst premier league managers ever.hes exactly like Stuart Pearce, everyone as figured out his tactic.
lgfualol Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Neil Lennon is at Bolton. I doubt he would drop everything to come to a team at the bottom of the prem, whether he played for us or not. This has probably been said before but I dont want to wade through the crap.
Happy Fox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Neil Lennon is at Bolton. I doubt he would drop everything to come to a team at the bottom of the prem, whether he played for us or not. This has probably been said before but I dont want to wade through the crap. We are a far bigger club than Bolton lets be honest, regardless of our position if we get relegated or stay up we are more likely to do more than Bolton will do in a league campaign. As well as having an affinity with us, I think Lennon would drop everything to come to us!
Gerard Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 At what point did it become a sackable offence when a newly promoted club came up and struggled? I think people are so used to seeing everyone else chuck the baby out with the bath water season after season that they expect that's what everyone should do. This season was always going to be a battle, with a very real chance of relegation. Anyone who thought otherwise just wasn't frankly being realistic. Pearson has made mistakes, nobody on here would say otherwise, but there isn't a manager out there who won't. He's been a good manager for us over the years, the best in a decade +. We've been told season after season that he wasn't good enough from the first day he arrived, and every time people have ended up being proved wrong. Yeah we've been awful in some games. Point to me a team in the bottom half that hasn't. We're so so close to actually getting it right. You say we were very very poor on Saturday, that's ridiculous. Most of our play was good enough all over the pitch, except for one thing the finishing. That's been the same story in several games like spurs at home. Dominating the game and come away with nothing. If we were being absolutely diabolical and not even in with a chance in most games then I'd be inclined to agree that he and the squad just aren't good enough. But I don't feel that's the case. We're in the realms of a single decision deciding out whole season it's still so close. We've gained points on all our rivals over the Christmas period and they all have hard games to come. Burnleys run of games until they play us is awful. I think there is a very real chance we can survive with Pearson this season. Even if we didn't, I can't see many brilliant candidates just yet to take over us as a championship team. I'm also not sure there is a massively compelling reason to get rid of one good proven championship manager for someone else. The facts are we've regressed this season under Pearson. We were the best team in the Championship by a country mile last season. Since then we have bought two players that cost just under £10mil each and even Burnley and QPR have outperformed is and haven't spent anywhere near what we have. Our two £10mil signings aren't even guaranteed a first team place. When a club like Leicester spends this kind of money he should be the best player in the team let alone his position. Pearson doesn't even know his best XI. We could put out two teams and the difference in quality would be neglible. I just get the impression Pearson has lost his way. I don't see any direction from him at all.
Ian S Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 No he's not. Ian S Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 This top post we must be of a similar age went to City for the first time too in 1967. If these young uns really believe Pearson is the best we have had and players of today are better than Shilton, Weller, Worthington, Glover, Clarke, Nish, Gibson, Garland, Earle, Stringfellow, Cross, Blockley, they really have not got a clue. Take into account all of those players at times played on mud baths of pitches not the green bowls carpet you see today we were spoilt. That's what depresses me today because one thing we always did at City was fight and never give in no matter who we were playing this season we are going down with a whimper with a man in charge who hasn't got a bloomin clue. Well my first game was the 1969 cup final so i don't qualify as one of these young pups that so many seem to think don't know what they are talking about,i can safely say just because you are older and been following the club longer certainly does not make you wiser based on the nonsense you are spouting.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 He did great. But let me ask you this. How long does Pearson live off last year's success. That's a genuine question. If he had been appointed as our manager THIS summer, we'd probably all be saying 'who on earth is he and what on earth is he doing'? Both on and off the pitch. I think it's time to put last season to bed. Well done Nigel. And live in the here and now. Living in the here and now, which is where we all are, it's hard to suggest Nigel is doing anything much other than failing. Does that not make sense? Yes Col that makes a lot of sense.
Fatty Arbuckle Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Who is available to do a better job then? What's your grand plan to solve the situation? This response always grates on me. I honestly believe it is time for a change because I don't think Pearson is up to the job, the season so far must surely support that view, we have not been good enough and the blame ultimately has to lie with the manager. Who is there to replace him though? I have absolutely no idea, but that's probably because I sell fish food for a living and beyond a passing look at the results on a Saturday I have not much knowledge of the world of football. However, if I owned a football club and the manager at my club was doing a pretty miserable job, I'd make damn sure I knew what was going on in the world of football, who was doing a good job, and could be a potential replacement. Just because 'Pearson outers' fail to name a suitable alternative, doesn't necessarily mean sacking him isn't the right thing to do.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Ok col stop being a politician. I don't want to see NP sacked. There, that's my opinion I may be wrong but that's how I feel. What do you honestly want? Stop sitting on the fence and be honest. If you want him out then say it and tell us who you want to replace him. It's not his job to say who should replace him, it's the clubs Whichever way you look at it, he has not earned his vast salary this season. If he can't do it, the club will find someone who can. It's not difficult to understand.
Swiss_tony Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 You obviously know nothing about football. Some of these comparisons are embarrassing. tell me why?????
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Ok col stop being a politician. I don't want to see NP sacked. There, that's my opinion I may be wrong but that's how I feel. Not cos I have any particular faith in Pearson at this level to keep us up, but because it's now too late to change it all about. If that was going to happen, it should have been weeks ago. It would be massively hard for any new bloke to come in and to get these players playing for him, especially with our next run of games. Keep Pearson and hope for the best.
