Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 February 2015 Share Posted 15 February 2015 Konch is infinitely better than Simpson. Konch is a good quality player who showing he's perhaps past his best and is making mistakes. Simpson is just a shit twat. didnt you say he was shit before hed even signed? gazfox9 Posted 15 February 2015 Share Posted 15 February 2015 wow people are going over the top. He's a decent player. Just made a mistake today which all defenders do. Everyone wanted him when De Laet was playing. No they really aren't. He's been awful for a few games running now. United,Stoke, Palace and today. It's not scapegoating, he's genuinely been that bad. Agree with this. He was the pits today. I'd like to see RDL back in the side.
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 February 2015 Share Posted 15 February 2015 The challenge he made on the player, not the ball, at the end of the game was laughable. I laughed at what I saw. Joke decision - his footballing brain isn't great. Not what you need at this level.
Dan LCFC Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 Not good enough. Bring back De Laet. At least he offers some kind of attacking threat. Simpson is a Championship full back in every sense.
Dan LCFC Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 wow people are going over the top. He's a decent player. Just made a mistake today which all defenders do. Everyone wanted him when De Laet was playing. Because we'd not seen him play and assumed that someone who we'd gone out and bought would hopefully be an improvement on De Laet, and he isn't. De Laet is far from faultless but he's a better player than Simpson. To be honest our full-back options are a complete joke.
STUHILL Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 Thought he was awful today! DeLaet should get another look in now. Not saying he will do any better but he needs another chance and after today, Simpson needs dropping.

Guest Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 Seen a few semi competent performances from Simpson but recently he's been dire. DeLaet on the naughty step with Hamer, Albrighton, Knockaert and Ulloa?

benpicko Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 Cambiasso is quite clearly better than what we have. If we're judging our midfielders on how many pointless balls they can try every match and how easy it is to run past them then yeah, he's easily our best. Only match where I've actually been really impressed by him has been Arsenal, every other match he's been mediocre bar the occasional wonder pass. Bruin Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 Every manager makes the odd mistake with signings, so this thinly veiled Pearson out argument holds no ground unless you can name a manager who has never made a bad signing. It isn't thinly veiled - it's a full on entreaty. There are myriad water-tight grounds for demanding the exit of NFP, c/f tactical ineptitude; selectorially biased; believing that a side full of average Championship players could ever survive in the Prem; personality disorders; arriving in February with near on two thirds of the season gone, and still doesn't know his best XI; arrogance to shame Hitler - all crimes against football, and there's more. But the OP was re Simpson, so I thought I'd keep it relevant. BLUE ARMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You get what you pay for. 2 million is probably the going rate for a half decent Championship full back these days. So why buy him to play amongst the elite in the Prem? C-man Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 If he can get a side full of average Championship players to amass 102 points in said league then we're probably best off keeping him for next season...

Well, there is a reason that LCFC gained a creditable total last season of course, and my theory is (as unpopular on here as it may be) that NFP had a lot less to do with it than is commonly given credence.
