Will the owners sell up...

... if we're relegated??

Sorry to scare people as haven't heard anything, but it got me thinking whether one season in the top flight is enough for them regarding 'free' exposure for their company and that they may take the money and run once relegation is confirmed??

Also not meaning to sound stupid but am I right in saying they can't just leave us unless they've got a buyer for the club??

They can do what they like - legally they own the club. Given the profit we are going to make this season, this will be their best chance to get out with the smallest loss.

They can sell the club, almost debt free thereafter for a reasonable sum.

Knowing what I do about the mindset of southeast Asian folk, I expect them to stay. To leave would be to lose face. They don't do that out there.

They can't sell the club without a buyer in the same way as you can't sell your house without a buyer.

No idea if they'll sell up. FFP makes it more difficult to have any impact. I doubt they'll be up for another ten years in the championship but who knows.

at this very moment i do not care and the way i see it they dont seem to care. nigel pearson should have gone months ago making this football club a laughing stock with his tantrums at fans and the media but not one director does **** all about it. susan whelan should also be hung out to dry . i bet if king power was being managed like this in thailland they would have done something about it. come on then give me some stick fr this post but that is my opinon

No I dont, they have stated they aim to be here a long time, and establish us in the premier league.

Their culture honouring what they say is very important to them.

Just because they have had the wrong man in charge of the team, will just be another lesson learnt.

They paid £39m for us including the stadium, invested heavily in most areas of the club and wiped out £100m debt (admittedly, they ran most of that debt up) they're in pretty deep and to sell now would be waving goodbye to tens of millions.

Absolute worst case scenario (and I don't think they would do this) is if they stick around for the next few years and absolutely rinse the parachute payments to recoup their money.

So what if they do

They have paid off all the debt so really we are a great buy for someone

Didn't spend much this year really

Maybe a new owner with deep pockets will spend a few more quid

Where? Can't do that outside the PL. This season was the time to do that. Pay a decent salary to get decent quality in. too late now. we HAVE to get out of the championship whilst we have the para payments to support the decent players we will have (at that level).

Once that's gone, we end up with the rest of 'em!

Agree really

But we will come back up

The new Sky deal might be a big incentive to stay.

Wasted opportunity this season, hope they learn the lessons from this year and come back stronger.

What happens with Pearson is the big decision for them this summer.

if we tail off badly now,Pearson will be gone, though he is probably already a dead man walking.

I thought we didn't get any money from Sky untill the end of the season so they could walk away when we go down with the 60 million the leave the club to survive on the 20 million for the following 3 years.

SORRY , BUT DONT BE SO FOOKING SILLY !!

Their in this for the long haul so if we fail at our first attempt back in the premier league it will only push them harder to put together a better stronger squad and now they've given Mr Pearson ago at the big time and seen him fail and return back to the Prozac ;) put in place a manager with a better nounce to keep us in the prem !!

So don't worry buddy about them going anywhere the Thais are honest people who don't like failure and will aim to put things right !!

They should stick to selling cheap tat at airports, not got a clue how to run a football club.

What a tw@ty knobish dickhead comment go back to pi55ing up a tree !!

They've done a superb job. The only thing you could possibly level at them is appointing Sven and not sacking Pearson earlier this season but it's debatable either would have made a huge difference.

They keep talking about being here years and for the long-term.  I think they will honour that and stick around for a long time, which is good news for us!
