Do we trust the owners judgement in bringing in a quality replacement?

In his first spell, Nige was forced out and replaced with Sousa, who perhaps whilst not being a bad manager, tried to implement an array of new ideas too quickly or ideas that the squad werent capable of taking on board.

He was only here a few months and then replaced with Sven. He did get us playing, but then tinkered a little too much with his loan dealings. Second season had us close to the playoffs, and some might argue that the owners pulled the trigger a little too quickly in dismissing him (not me personally, but some would).

Having gone around in a circle, they then reverted back to Pearson, who you could perhaps argue in the instance where they gave Sven too little time, they have now let a situation deteriorate too far with Pearson.

The owners have done an incredible amount of work on the financial side of the club which they have to be commended for their commitment, but next season is going to be absolutely massive and if they screw it up, it could set the club back several years.

I dont really see the merits of the "give him 10 games" argument.

If youre giving a manager 10 games, and things arent working, then a new manager has to work with a squad that isnt his until January where business is usually limited anyway, but coming up to a quarter of the season would have been written off, and i dont see it as being much different to now. People are in jobs now and wont leave them, so itll still be a prising a manager away from a job situation 10 games into next, only difference being the crowd will be restless and the squad demoralised if theyre playing so badly the manager has been sacked.

Its got to be get rid in the summer, and let a new man implement what he wants to implement, or stick with Pearson for the long haul next season.

Sadly for me, i have no confidence that Pearson can inspire the turnaround next season considering the points that have been raised numerous times across many threads.

I don't trust them to be able to bring anyone in

They wanted a name, both names they had an input in were disastrous... Sousa would have seen us relegated in record fashion... and Sven should have walked the league, but he never once even got in the playoffs, never mind look like finishing in them

When that went sour, denting them heavily in the pocket in the process, they had no alternative except for two ex-managers

I don't think they know anything, well, certainly nothing they've done would suggest they'd find the next Pochettino... and even if they do, some fans would want him out, even if he was clear at the top of the division

People weren't/aren't keen on NFP for reasons that have nothing to do with his personality.

If we had a new manager that had massively improved the side as happened at Southampton then the fans would be behind him.

I didn't want Pearson back as I felt he had failed before.

Possibly the funniest thing I've ever read... you do realise before he left he won league one (with a team signed mostly by him and on a budget) and the second season he got a newly promoted club to the play offs losing out on penalties. Whilst he might not have been perfect. To have failed, I can only presume you expected us to get promotion in our first season back in the championship. Which, quite frankly says more about your ridiculous expectations than it does about Pearson.

Cue a post about how Pearson 'bottled it' in the first leg against Cardiff, therefore his whole tenure at the club was a failure.

People who want him out, who is the ideal replacement then? Warbrton, Howe, Karanca etc haven't had a go at the Premier League so there is little/nothing to suggest they'd be any better than Pearson at this level. If we ever get promoted again and end up bottom - or bottom three - then we'll be having this discussion yet again.

But NP has tried and failed. No one will know how they will do unless they get the chance to prove themselves. You do realise we could not be doing any worse than we already are in the prem?

Of course I realise that but it's not my point. We put a new manager in charge who hasn't managed in the Premier League before, and he fails, then we'll be having this discussion again until we bring in a "proven" manager who are hard to find at this level - apart from Pulis, Allardyce etc.

I am a bit confused then. Are you suggesting we keep the already tried and tested formula of failure, just incase somebody else comes in and fails?

I keep mentioning this, a team like Doncaster came straight back up when relegated to League 1 the other year, it's not as if Pearson performed a miracle that nobody else has done. I certainly expected us to do well that season but not to win it.

Had he played an attacking side at home (as any other manger would) then we would probably have been promoted. Certainly coloured my view of him from then on.

Of course not, no. I just think some people are treating this as if someone is going to walk in and magically turn things around.

That seems to be the thought process with many on here.

Let me turn it around then. So why not keep Pearson and let him have another go? Managers have been relegated then won promotion again?

Because he has had his chance and blown it. Poor tactics, man management and 4 times he has had embarrassing run ins this season. We are bottom and going down. Everybody knew where we desperately needed to strengthen and we won promotion at a canter playing 4-4-2. Why didn't he decide to keep with a working system and go for it rather than tinkering constantly and trying to not lose games.

Oh and before someone states that it is s different division etc. Burnley did not change and look like they still have a fighting chance of surbival.

Not arguing with any of that, in fact I do agree. Just wanted a response because my 'thought process' of not going for a manager with lack of experience at this level (should be win promotion again) was criticised yet sacking the manager and starting again (which we've done often throughout the last 11 years) seems the way to go.

I'm not in or out anymore. Get tired of the same question being asked. We're bottom because we're the worst side and we need to win 6 out of 10 yet haven't managed 6 wins all season. Meh. Move onto Saturday, let's see what happens (not at all personally confident though).

Miracle, no. Failure, no. Thankfully nobody said it was the former.

Unless we beat Spurs then 60%+ would want him to stay.

Fickle fans.

Foxes talk is has the largest majority of pearson fans on the football forums.

And for the majority on here wanting him gone, just proves how bad things have got.

THIS

I don't write what is below in jest.

Pearson has either bottled it, or had a breakdown.

Either way for months he has not been the man we thought he was, and to me his decision making over that time shows his mind has 'gone'.

No way should he be allowed to further destroy, what a few months ago was a young dynamic positive playing side. (I accept it may too late, not just for this season - may need a complete overhaul to get back up).

The deterioration of the team, their spirit and style of play has nothing short of shocking.

End it!

I have to say that his behaviour both on and off the field, brings his mental stability into question.

I think this summer, he will find them wild dogs, and pick a fight with them, he would have ran out of people to fall out with, that's how much he's lost it lol

BUMP -

Does anybody want to change their vote?

Never seen such an unorganised team since 2007/08 derby county.

He's lost the fans, He's lost his bottle, He's lost his team.

Now he should lose his job.

Whoever we get at this moment doesn't phase me. just get this idiot out. Martin Jol for me until the end of the season with offer of extension should we improve, not that we could get worse.

Wish I knew mate.

Exactly he knows he cannot save us. Be a decent man and give us a chance.

He's completely lost his squad, no matter how much they tell us otherwise, they simply are not bothered.
