he should go now because the lack of ambition we saw on Saturday was not acceptable - standards are important - if they don't sack him they are saying to all lcfc employees that such a lack or combativeness is acceptable.

I just cannot fathom how he has any support left. There is simply nothing to lose in sacking him

Perhaps you should read the site as people have expressed why in about every thread going, it's really not that hard to fathom.

our best players will leave at the end of the season anyway so a rebuilding job is needed

You don't know who will go, the ones that are most probable weren't even that big a part of our promotion season, barring Knockaert and Was.

Lets do it with someone that can be or is a premiership manager.

You see here is the crux of the problem, it's unlikely someone who isn't already a failure at the top level will come here, if you're after someone who has been a prem manager.

Plus, it's not exactly easy to pick someone who will be a premiership manager. If it was... everyone would be doing it. Who do we have on the staff qualified to picking one? It's very easy to say and very hard to do. That is why he retains support from a lot of people. ie. better the devil you know.

I'd wait until the end of the season and see what happens in the champ. There have been some impressive management performances this year down there.

Cant see the point in getting rid now to be honest who on earth is going to come in and improve matters at this point of the season. would like to see him get the chance to get us back up but can see him getting sacked, dread to think who we will get in though.

If Dick Advocaat t use an example can inspire a short term revival in Sunderland, as the likes of Sherwood, Pulis and Pardew have done, what is the harm in looking to a short term man for 2 months who might inspire some sort of a rally for the last 10 games?

Of course, this is only on the basis that Nigel is not the man for the future

If the board think he is the man for the future, which i find highly unlikely considering he was sacked and then hastily reinstated, then he should be given part of next season to turn the situation around

If anyone leaves it will be on our terms

Lets do it with someone who is or can be a PL manager?

Wonder why no one else has ever thought of that?

The Championship is a graveyard for managers suited to the PL... 8th to 12th place beckons

So we should keep him next season to get us up, then sack him for a PL suited manager? I think that's what you're implying, as obviously he's a Championship manager not suited to the PL?

If a player wants to leave (Hamer, Albrighton,Kramaric, Moore etc) then you would be very idiot to force them to stay.

I wish I was in a job where consistant failure is rewarded with yet another go. Sadly if I constantly messed up and was confrontational I would be out the door where I work.

I understand what your saying but it's different to a normal job isn't it.

End of the season for me. It's too late to get any good long-term candidates and neither of the two I'd take interest in would be available right now.

If we bin him now, we'll just end up with a shitty caretaker team until the end of the season and end up like Wolves did under Terry Connor.

And who do you think we'd be able to get, as an improvement on Pearson, at the end of the season?

Warburton or Lennon. You'll probably laugh, and so would I a year ago but anyone who thinks we'll return to the same Championship force under Pearson is kidding themselves. I think it's broken beyond repair under his leadership, which is a great shame as I was one of his biggest fans.

Neither have the pedigree that Nige does, but who thought he would be such a success when we appointed him?

Should have happened start of December in hidsight.

If we go down though I'd keep him unless someone can suggest a serious alternative. he's clearly a very good manager at Championship level but short of what it takes in the PL.

Warbuton I wouldn't laugh at all, done a superb job.

Lennon I really don't get one bit, if he hadn't played for us we wouldn't be considering him. A nasty bastard off the pitch, prone to the same sort of goading of fans as Pearson and hasn't really done anything since being at Bolton (and on paper they have a pretty good squad).

Not convinced by Lennon at all, Warburton is as good a shout as any given his availability at the end of the season. Hope we steer well clear of the tried, tested and ultimately unambitious choices of Warnock and Pearce. Wouldn't be averse to giving Adkins a go but his spell at Reading was not too successful.

People who want him out, who is the ideal replacement then? Warbrton, Howe, Karanca etc haven't had a go at the Premier League so there is little/nothing to suggest they'd be any better than Pearson at this level. If we ever get promoted again and end up bottom - or bottom three - then we'll be having this discussion yet again.

More than 50% want him sacked now or at the end of the season, that's a big turnaround from a month or 2 ago.

We're not the decision makers. The fact of the matter is Pearson has failed abysmally in the top flight and better managers in the Premiership have already lost their jobs this season. So why is Pearson any different. You and others have to realise that we cannot continue as we are doing and time for change is here.

He did aswell as anyone would do with that Celtic side, but I think he's done alright at Bolton considering. Financially, they're in a very similar position to the one we were in when Sven left, only lower down the table. He's steered them away from relegation at least and given a full season I'm sure he'd do a lot better.

Warburton is my no.1 choice but I think given a clean slate, Lennon could do a good job here.

Either sack him today or keep him for next season. Right now I'd be happy with either, if we sacked him at the end of the season, we'd be relegated anyway. The only reason to keep him is for his Championship ability, so end of the season would be stupid

This for me

I'm actually torn, I really don't trust the Thai's judgement in getting a suitable replacement if I'm honest. But it's pretty evident we need some fresher ideas going forward, else I wouldn't be surprised if we struggle next year too.
