rock bottom for 5 months.. Is that a record?

No, derby went bottom at the end of October and stayed there for the rest of the season. We won't take that record or indeed any of the worst records they set - already more points, more goals (they scored 20, we've got 27) fewer goals conceded (they conceded 89, we'd need to concede 42 in 9 games), more wins, fewer defeats...

Can you even begin to imagine how bad they actually were?

lol

I remember that season well. They were utterly shocking.

If it continues would we be the second worst side in Prem history?

I suspect so?

However, I think we'll pick up wins before the end personally.

We'll beat West Ham I think.

Just having a read of them - Their top scorer was Kenny Miller with 4 lol

Imagine winning one game of football all season. This was the team that lost 0-4 at home to Reading on the final day.

Derby: Carroll, Mears, Moore, Nyatanga, Lewis, Sterjovski, Savage ©, Ghaly, Jones, Villa, Miller.

I don't know where we would be, sure I remember Sunderland going down once on about 20 points as well.

Nope, we've got more wins and goals, as well as fewer defeats than the Sunderland side of 05-06 who went down with 15 points. And the same amount of wins as the Sunderland side who went down with 19 points in 02-03

Sunderland got 19. So we've passed them too.

No :ermm:

Anyway, who ever remembers the team that came 2nd? Whether it be losing in the play off final, or being the second worst at something

I think we got 20 in 01/02. So we should beat that... just.

We managed 28, including six from the last four matches. And yet that team was appalling and seemed to give up around Christmas. The results that year were disgraceful- 3-0, 4-0 and 5-0 home defeats to Derby, Southampton and Bolton for fvcks sake, not Man United and Arsenal.

I really don't think this team is as bad as that one was, but will surely finish with fewer points.

Was that the opening day humiliation vs newly promoted Bolton? Lost 0-5 at home.

I remember that season all too well.

We effectively had an R by our name at half time of the first game.

To be fair, Bassett steadied the ship a bit, brought in Paul Dickov, and handed the role to Micky Adams, so SOME things went well.

My mistake. I think that team was still better in a lot of areas actually. Having Peter Taylor and Harry Bassett in charge for most of the season didn't help, and we threw away some leads I remember.
