Borderlands 2 on the ps4 at the minute, managed to get the handsome collection for a tenner so two games and all the downloadable content as well, i really enjoyed the first so don't know why it's taken so long to play the second but it's a great game!

This is tempting.

But then so is the Bioshock collection, and the Ezio collection, and the Arkham Collection, and they'd all take forever to play lol

Resident Evil free next month which is none to shabby, sure LiB will find someway to slag the collection of games off again though.

Can't resist hey Pablo? :)

Tbh, Resident Evil is a good shout, not too sure about the other freebie though.  Looking forward to Resi Evil 7, will definitely buy.

As for what I'm playing, Tomb Raider is on pre order so I have roughly 12 days to finish Uncharted 4.  Nearing the end of that.  Deus Ex was a blast, although the ending too abrupt for my liking.

To be fair your journey shout was horrendous so you deserve it.

Deus ex I agree seemed to come to a rather abrupt holt.

Finally got round to X-com 2. Seems A LOT harder, I seem to be always chasing the game and I'm only playing on normal. Every mission I either lose soldiers or most of them are wounded... and I know X-com. I've played all the original Julian Rignall(?) games and the first PS X-com game and all the add-ons. All of that is with constant reloading of missions to minimise casualties. I've only completely revealed the North America continent and East Asia and Brazil, and the Avatar project is only two blocks from completion - which I assume is ENDGAME.

Right now I feel like I'm in an unrecoverable position (from experience I know that X-xom will let you play a losing game for ages before you ultimately lose!). Progress seems so much harder!

Ok the PSN games this month actually are dreadful lol

I received the email yesterday about them. Think one of them is called stories. I read the description and it sounded alot like a game on the Dreamcast called Skies of Arcadia (One of my all time favorite RPGs, Brilliant) I was looking forward to downloading this in the hope it was similar.

Now im not so sure lol

Update: completed the game, from the above position. Once I realised that you could push back and delay the avatars project, it became quite simple. By the end of the game I was waltzing through missions with a Psi soldier (to control organic enemies), a robotics specialist (to control robots), a couple of snipers and a couple of heavies.

As in the first x-com I found rangers very underpowered later in the game, so stopped using them, except on mission that needed to be a, bit more clinical, such as extractions or saving raided liberation fighters.

Basic tactic was edge forward, control one of first group come across, who can often see more aliens that my squad can't, so adding more options for my two hopefully elevated snipers (no Archangel armour :( ), and who distract from my squad. Hopefully get one AoE attack off from controlled alien (stand next to someone and drop a bomb!), snipe what's left, and if all else fails... blitz the place with the heavies.

Much fun, will have to try the DLC.

Anyone else playing The Last Guardian? I heard tell of crawling frame rates when outside, but I've not noticed any huge slow down. The camera angles can be a annoying, but I seem to remember this also being an issue for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus too.

I'm loving it! The beauty of the art, the music, but most of all the relationship between boy and beast. Trico is by far and away the best AI companion ever, not least because it doesn't always do what you tell it. Ask Trico to do something stupid or pointless and the quizzical look it gives is brilliant.

Worth the wait I'm thinking.

I am playing it yes, although me and the group I play online with have recently made a strangely extremely successful return to Rocket League as all the DLC was cheap, absolutely handing people in even competitive. Most of played at least 10 and only lost 2 last night.

Anyway yes the camera angles can be infuriating but yes it is a nice little game even if it is a little straight forward so far.

After dabbling in Bloodbourne last year, I have finally fired up dark souls that I bought in a past steam sale, enjoying it so far, but its pretty hard and frustrating

I hated Dark Souls. Took me ages to beat the first boss lol

Then when I finally beat it I thought yea ill keep playing, then I kept dying on the same enemy that wasn't even a boss and thought yea **** this lol. Don't have the patience for a game like that. Don't see the appeal of going over the same area again and again before finally nailing the boss to then go and repeat it all over again.

Dark Souls is amazing. Youz is just shit lol

It's about practice and patience really, I'd say you'd need to spend 20 hours with a From Software game just to "get good" for want of a better phrase, but once you've got a feel for one of them you'll be ok with most of them. If your still shit after that amount of time yeah your probably best to pack it up but the learning curve is massive and needs to be respected.

Oh I have no doubt that the game is really good. Like I said I just do not have the patience for it. I just cant be bothered to put the hours in to 'get good' I'll stick to playing FF8 for the time being lol

I had started with a knight, but he's quite slow and heavy in the early game, and a large part of my bloodbourne play was dodging, so after a google and learning the class mainly only affects the early game, i rolled a few more characters and played them up to just after the first boss, killed the demon in 3 hits with a wanderer, so went with him lol. Enjoying it, really interesting and refreshing to play a game that doesn't hold your hand and drag you through. Each area is a puzzle to work out, and I love it. Tried to go through the valley of the drakes. nasty
