splinterdream Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 no one has mentioned a player/coaching role with an opportunity at management when and if Sven decides to step down. That may tempt Becks
Ricey Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 no one has mentioned a player/coaching role with an opportunity at management when and if Sven decides to step down. That may tempt Becks Beckham has always stated he has no interest in coaching or management.
accessory Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 I can well believe an enquiry could/have been made, however I don't think think this will happen. He has stated many times in the past he would never play for another English team again. West Ham, Spurs and others have made enquiries in the past but hes turned them down. I think Becks will play for other teams but in Europe or Australia even Asia to promote brand Beckham. He has nothing to prove by coming to Leicester. But how much would our owners give to have Beckham wear a shirt with King Power on it? He may still have his eyes on Peter Shilton's England caps record. Playing a part in a (potential) promotion campaign for us could yet give him a decent shot at it.
m00nie Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 when you think about the publicity that could come from this for the club, the owners, and beckham himself it doesnt actually sound as far fetched an idea.. theres also the training accademy there planning to build in thailand , no doubt something in there could be made to benefit becks and the thais..
Hack Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 This is the same David Beckham that ENGLAND missed badly at the worldcup this summer. His signing would be a marketing pieceof genius but he could also offer so much on the pitch in terms leadership and ability. Anyone else that thinks Beckham is past it at 36 needs tollok at the mans work ethic. He was still playing in Seria A last season and most Premiership teams would take him at the drop of a hat. If Bert says theirs some legs in this story then that alone shows that the club has ambition! Absolutely agree. This guy fits the bill in my missing piece thread. Anyone who says he is not good enough, give yourself an uppercut. Is he in the top few midfielders in the World anymore, probably not but would still walk in to most Premier teams and lots of other top Euro league teams. Plus you get the added bonus of the media frenzy and news worthiness that goes with Beckham. Is he the future NO. but he would special for the team this year at least.
lcfcadam Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 If we get David Beckham, I will chop my penis off, fry it in oil, and eat it. I've never really felt the "" smiley on here does the trick for things that truly make me "L O L"... that is absolute gold right there.

MPH Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 A minute chance that it might be, I think there is only one manager in the world that could persuade Beckham to come to leicester. It just so happens that he is currently our manager... You couldn't write a script like it.....
Jaspa Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 More evidence Beckham playing in a Leicester shirt . . . C'mon people really?!!1
skinnydipper Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Sorry chaps/chapesses I'm not at all sure about this one. Player-wise - past it now so think we could get better Profile-wise - no doubt that he'll raise the profile of the club but at what cost? O.k , shirt and G-string sales from the club shop may boom but not enough to cover his wages. Would prefer to see the money spent elsewhere. Invariably we'll here the "Posh Spice takes it up the arse" song from most sets of away fans. The monotony of it will surely cause that ballad to lose its charm. Always thought the Thai thing would become a bit of a circus Billy Smart to do the half time entertainment next Fun while it lasts though
CupidStunt Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Feck me if this pulls off I can actually find the story believable, something sven might try to pull off, ...and why the feck not? He and the owners have a job to do, get us promoted, and raise the profile of the club, cant get any Bigger than David Beckham I'd say there is about 0.001% chance of this happening though, but take my hat of to them for trying I just love this fooking club Sorry chaps/chapessesI'm not at all sure about this one. IF DB came back to England, never mind Leicester City, It would be one of the biggest Coups of all time
Jon the Hat Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 He doesn't want to play for a prem team other than Man Utd.... Milan don't want him...
h1210 Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 If Beckham joined Leicester I'd consider forgiving him for the Argentina match
MrLuke Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 I can't believe this would happen, please let it be true! this is angry wank material...

Chairman of the Bored Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 A "sauce" at Leicester City Council has informed me that Posh has enquired about housing vacancies and whether or not the kids could attend New College under pseudonyms.
foxofthenorth Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Could be marketed as 'Beckham helps Sven out at LCFC' ????

Carter The Boss Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 I can't believe this would happen, please let it be true! this is angry wank material... I am already spaffing my pants at this. That man is a GOD. I'm going to wake my Saints supporting housemate up and tell her the good news, and ask her to wash my sheets for me

renards Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 First visit too Bangkok some years ago on the way from the heavily King Power promoted airport, first image going in to the city was a picture of Beckham on the side of one of the tallest buildings basically covering it. I have no doubt they will try for him, biggest PR stunt ever in Asia if they pull it off
