stevec Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Fulop to play next three games Marton Fulop will be in goal for Leicester City tomorrow despite reports that he has been recalled by Sunderland. Sunderland manager Roy Keane said today he was recalling the Hungarian international goalkeeper. But City sources say Sunderland will not exercise that option until the January transfer window. That means the 6ft 4in stopper will play against Wolves tomorrow, and is also available for City's games against Ipswich and Charlton. For full story and reaction see tomorrow's Leicester Mercury. http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/disp...tentPK=19333090
Wezleylowski Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Fulop is also in the Merc saying "Play for the shirt" Can't understand why he would say this and then leave. I would imagine that he would have been told days ago if Keane was keen to recall him

Bryn Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Next 3 games... at least there is a chance to say goodbye! Last home game with him will be Charlton, 90 minutes of solid Fulop chants and a standing ovation please!
Simi Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Time to get the "Dont Go Martin" banners back out!
Bryn Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Time to get the "Dont Go Martin" banners back out! ! Seriously though, good plan. Obvs won't make him stay but it'll be a good gesture towards him.
jonw88 Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 !Seriously though, good plan. Obvs won't make him stay but it'll be a good gesture towards him. He's just going back to Sunderland in January, doesn't mean that we can't buy him though. Surely we should get first dibs on him as he's been on loan at us and at least pretends to enjoy it here?? And surely his opinion will count towards something?
Koke Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Next 3 games... at least there is a chance to say goodbye! Last home game with him will be Charlton, 90 minutes of solid Fulop chants and a standing ovation please! He is re-called with immediate effect and will be in Sunderland's squad for their game tomorrow at Reading.
teblin Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Time to get the "Dont Go Martin" banners back out! Other than his name is Marton brilliant.
Wezleylowski Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Why? I always thought the players were told things a day or so before the public.
Bryn Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 He is re-called with immediate effect and will be in Sunderland's squad for their game tomorrow at Reading. You say that with confidence but there's conflicting reports.
Bert Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 He is re-called with immediate effect and will be in Sunderland's squad for their game tomorrow at Reading. No he isn't.
lookwhaticando Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 If this is true I would go with Henderson ahead of any other option mainly because Logan's been away from the club all season. At least Henderson's been around the place and knows what's going on from day-to-day. Not even close to being as good as Fulop but he'd be an able deputy, maybe slightly rusty though. Bloody hell! That's a plus point?
Koke Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 No he isn't. What's the situation then? Or is there a sheer amount of uncertainty around at the moment? Nothing on either OS nor the BBC or Sky yet but we'll wait and see I suppose.
Asha Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 What's the situation then? Or is there a sheer amount of uncertainty around at the moment?Nothing on either OS nor the BBC or Sky yet but we'll wait and see I suppose. It could all by hype. It could all be sensationalised. But either way Fulop has been great for the club and if he has to go, he has to go.
stevec Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 He is re-called with immediate effect and will be in Sunderland's squad for their game tomorrow at Reading. To the best of my knowledge that would contradict rules on Loan deals (ie he would not be allowed to play for Sunderland tommorrow) - and the post I copied in from the Mercury.
Ashley Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Theres nothing on any of the Sunderland forums.
onetruefox Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Just said on radio Leicester its not happening..So if thats what Barber is saying.expect him to be playing for Sunderland tomorrow
