phildw Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Were actually going backwards - Discuss? (oh and no game in hand excuses this time please)
Baby Elvis Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Tbh Mate 16th does not bother me at this current moment in time.. Tons of games to go.. But for some reason we have a much better team then last year but we are in a way going backwards! Have faith in sven and the players.. and before you know play offs within touching distance
Narborough_fox Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Are we really improving!? Yes we are really improving, we've lost 3 games in the 10 that Sven has taken charge including wins against our 2 closest rivals. Winning 5 games and drawing 2. Thats 17 points from 10 games which is championship form let alone promotion form. We're attracting ex-england internationals, current internationals and premier league players.
orangecity23 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Before Sven took over, we were bottom of the table. So yes, we have improved. We are nowhere near consistent yet, but we're now winning about once every 2 games, whereas under Sousa we won a grand total of 1 league game.
crazylegs1984 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Omg seriously you again , are we gonna get one of your ''are we improving post'' after every match ffs honestly let's wait till after new year before we even think about the above
KFS Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Sven has lost 3 in 10, achieving good form. It's Sousa your knee jerk reaction should be aimed at.
Bugg Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Didn't he start a almost an identical thread recently? phildw is either an overreacting arse or just a WUM.
Tewy5 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 We r getting there would b nice 2 win every game but that don't happen we will put a run 2gether and make the playoffs svens the way forward wait till january c who we get ?
Guest NGoloMode Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Is this serious? Our form is the same of the teams in the play-offs since sven took over. Its our bad start that means we are where we are in the table.
Tewy5 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Svens got them playing good football just need to start putting the ball in the net someone soon will get spanked hopefully doncaster
Conscript Fox Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Were actually going backwards - Discuss? (oh and no game in hand excuses this time please) Got to be a WUM, but just in case you arent, buddy, lay off the crack for a bit, put the pipe down for a day or two... good man.
Matt Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I was saying this morning, The damage was done before Sven came, Sousa fucked us up, even if was 'only 9 games', If we had a better start to the season we wouldn't be 16th, There is no certainty we'd have had that better start under Sven, chances are we would have though, I'm going back a few games now and we have lost 1 or 2 and won 1 or 2 in that time but if the season had started when Sven was appointed we'd have been up the top, in playoff position's at least, taking that stat it's quite clear my statement saying the damage had been done is true, not only losing games damaged us but losing 6-1 damaged us big time, because whenever we win a game and try and get a run going (But seem to fail) when we look up the table we fall behind places every time due to our goal difference. If we had started this season under Sven, we would not be 16th, we would not be worrying about this defeat, we'd have just took it on the chin and moved on. Yes, we have improved, but there still are many more improvement's we need to make which I believe will be sorted in due course.

Pre season was a shambles, and you cannot conduct a training session that consists of non contact 5 a side games, particularly when you face Pompey, Norwich, Burnley and Cov as your first awaydays. Things could have been oh so different if Mrs Pearson didnt want to go on holiday last summer.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 We are going forward, but its frustrating that we cant sort our scoring problem out. We're almost taking a big step forward then taking a slightly smaller one back.
Kent Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Not only would we be in a better place if Sven was in charge for the first 9 games, but also the pre-season would have meant better signings, training and the extra time to settle down meaning we would nearly certainly be in better form than we are now.
Corky Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Interesting that you didn't create this after Monday night's game. Wonder why.
The Doctor Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Under sven we've played 10 and picked up 17 points (1.7 ppg) , under sousa we had played 9 and picked up 5 points (0.55 ppg). When sousa left we were bottom, when sven arrived we were 22nd, improvement of 6 places since sven arrived. Under sven we've lost 3 league games (30% of games), under sousa we lost 6 (66.6% of games). Goals per game ratio under sven: 1.3 (13 in 10), under sousa: 1.1 (10 in 9) Goals conceded per game - Under sven: 1.1, under sousa: 2.44 (22 in 9) Clean sheets - under sven: 4 in 10 (40% of games) ,under sousa 1 in 9 (11% of games). There is no way you can say we haven't improved under sven.
Jimothy Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Just had a quick look at the opening posters previous posts. He is always negative, even when making a positive comment he makes it sound negative. Seemingly doesn't comment after win (nothing after Monday night). Really can't be doing with people like this, who enjoy moaning for moaning's sake. I hate losing as much as the next person, but doing this after every defeat is a joke. Teams lose occasionally, it happens. Sven's real work will start in January when he can bring in permanent transfers, right now it's just patching up the mess that Sousa left him with loans and frees, and he's doing an amazing job. It's usually people like the opening poster who can't get their head around the fact that we're not as good as Barcelona after two months under Sven guidance. Ridiculous attitude and fans like that we can do without to be honest.
MC Prussian Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Imagine - it could get even worse should some of the teams below us pick up a win or so with their game in hand.
