Are we really improving under Sven?

Not only would we be in a better place if Sven was in charge for the first 9 games, but also the pre-season would have meant better signings, training and the extra time to settle down meaning we would nearly certainly be in better form than we are now.

Apart from fitness, main problems at the start were (a) the most important - no replacement for Brown (b) extra central midfielder acquired (Yuki), but played out wide © extra striker acquired (Waggie), but played on wing.

As soon as Sven came he sorted out the first and second problems, as well as getting in extra defenders to replace ones playing out of form. If he'd been here at the start we surely would have been in a much better position earlier, and now.

He's still not sorted out a goalscorer though, and we can't keep saying "someone's going to get slaughtered soon". Maybe Bednar will come good after a few more games, but I'd love to see our most prolific open-play goalscorer cajoled back to form and given a go.

Were actually going backwards - Discuss? (oh and no game in hand excuses this time please)

well , they do say that you have to run fast to stand still , and we are running , but possibly not quite fast enough,

so i suppose relatively , ( if not actually ) we are going backwards

err...i think !!

FFS, Yes, we were 10 points behind Watford when he took over. Going into yesterday we were a point ahead, we have lost 3 games under Sven. And you can't blame him for yesterday How about Hobbs, Davies and Howard for ball watching and Weale for for making the right decision to come out, but then forgetting why he did!

Fooking tool!

I was saying this morning, The damage was done before Sven came, Sousa fucked us up, even if was 'only 9 games', If we had a better start to the season we wouldn't be 16th, There is no certainty we'd have had that better start under Sven, chances are we would have though, I'm going back a few games now and we have lost 1 or 2 and won 1 or 2 in that time but if the season had started when Sven was appointed we'd have been up the top, in playoff position's at least, taking that stat it's quite clear my statement saying the damage had been done is true, not only losing games damaged us but losing 6-1 damaged us big time, because whenever we win a game and try and get a run going (But seem to fail) when we look up the table we fall behind places every time due to our goal difference.

If we had started this season under Sven, we would not be 16th, we would not be worrying about this defeat, we'd have just took it on the chin and moved on. Yes, we have improved, but there still are many more improvement's we need to make which I believe will be sorted in due course.

The interesting thing here is that we'd never have dreamt about having Sven at the Walkers at the start of this season - when we were maybe still licking our wounds over Pearson's strange exit, with his having got us to fifth and into the play offs at the first attempt back in the Chamiponship last season. We were then left wondering how Sousa was going to do before a ball was kicked, with his supposedly expansive brand of passing/pure football.....which ultimately backfired on the guy and then some! ! I heard that Sousa was bought in as a bit of a gamble with a view to steadying the ship and to get us to finish midtable this time - hence Sousa's talk that it would take two seasons for us to be in the Premier League perhaps! I think this was basically as Pearson had fallen out with Mandaric at some stage towards the end of last season, even before the penalty shoot out in Wales, when Sousa was said to be there watching he game. The rest as they say is history now - thankfully! We have definitely improved under Sven though, no question. 16th after the Watford debacle was a false position for us (considering our current form) and that was largely down to our appalling start under Sousa whereby a defeat can still significantly drop you down the table. Even our current billing of 13th doesn't tell the tale of how much we've now improved and look set to continue to do so hopefully..... :)
