hairy Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Lets just hope its a Pearson signing rather than Milan trying to get the names
Simo86 Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Lets just hope its a Pearson signing rather than Milan trying to get the names I think its more Pearson cos he has worked with him before. Hopefully we now have a player who can beat the first man from set plays, and maybe put a few crosses on Howard's head
Babylon Posted 22 January 2010 Author Posted 22 January 2010 Lets just hope its a Pearson signing rather than Milan trying to get the names I think it's Pearson, knows him well from his time at Newcastle... plus we are working on a limited budget and his wages aren't going to be big. It's a punt to freshen up the squad I think.
Edmund Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 So we've swapped Solano with Gradel and stuck with a striker (Gallagher) as backup on the wing. - Catastrophe.
Babylon Posted 22 January 2010 Author Posted 22 January 2010 Catastrophe Nothing like going completely over the top.
evs_the_fox Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 should be a good short-term transfer. still need to keep gradel though - a few months learning off nobby would set him up nicely for next season
Edmund Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 I've got nothing against Solano signing but this obviously just a short term measure. You need to look beyond this season babs.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 So we've swapped Solano with Gradel and stuck with a striker (Gallagher) as backup on the wing. - Catastrophe. I find it nonsensical too, but I really hope it works for us.
teblin Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 So we've swapped Solano with Gradel and stuck with a striker (Gallagher) as backup on the wing. - Catastrophe. Have you heard of Dany n'guessan? Good signing I reckon, good at dead ball situations, always works hard if he's fit which he's need to be to get through a fitness test i think we've got a good player.
Babylon Posted 22 January 2010 Author Posted 22 January 2010 I've got nothing against Solano signing but this obviously just a short term measure. You need to look beyond this season babs. I am... Gradel hasn't been here all year, so we've not really lost anyone. We've just gained a winger though, pushing PG further down the pecking order on the wing... maybe.
Corky Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 I've got nothing against Solano signing but this obviously just a short term measure. You need to look beyond this season babs. Most of Pearson's signings are looking long-term, nothing wrong with bringing in a bit of experience and quality now and then
Simo86 Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Remember that small bloke who used to play for West Ham. Tony Cottee i think his name was. 36. What a revelation he turned out to be.
Sods Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 The Geordies are going to love this, they will be louder in the reception he gets then us!
eleven points Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Remember that small bloke who used to play for West Ham. Tony Cottee i think his name was. 36. What a revelation he turned out to be. 32 when we signed him 35 when we got rid of him, according to Wikipedia that is.
Sods Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Age is irelevant, the guy has never had that much pace.
Koke Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Remember that small bloke who used to play for West Ham. Tony Cottee i think his name was. 36. What a revelation he turned out to be. And Chris Powell is 40 years old and was solid as fook when he played for us last year - and some even want him to play now as well.
Edmund Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Have you heard of Dany n'guessan? But he hardly gets a look in. Paul Gallagher seems to be in front of him in the pecking order.
Tevez Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Finally!! Someone who can cross + at a bargain!!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 I have to say I'm more pleased that we have got Solano than I would of been if it was Davids. Always fairly rated him and if he can play a handful of games and do a job good luck to him.
Simo86 Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 32 when we signed him 35 when we got rid of him, according to Wikipedia that is. Apologies if i'm wrong , but you see what i'm getting at. Solano is also capable of playing at right back if needed so its a bit more cover at full back aswell
Bryn Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 I think he'll bring something to the team. And if he doesn't we punt him out after 6 months. I'm happy with this. Might actually make us a threat from set pieces again.
