Whilst all the talk is about 6 of the 7 backs being dropped for this 1 & therefore the backline being the issue, there’s a saying in Rugby that forwards win you games & quite frankly 6 of those 8 can think themselves bloody fortunate to be starting. The Sheff Wed player has played the ref there without a doubt, in his 2nd movement on the ground he twists to get the refs attention putting his hand up when he sees that he’s clocked him he starts to roll. We all know if your properly hurt you lie still to protect yourself you don’t look for the ref prior to rubbing your knee. As you say Phillips has played the ball with the Wednesday player coming through whilst Phillips leg is going into extension after he plays the ball, the still is pointless in isolation & shouldn’t be used to make a call. It’s another medal 🥉 but as someone mentioned previously there’s always something in the back of your mind when points are awarded subjectively, the build up to this woman’s freeski was all about Gu, what’s she won, where she’s from & how she switched nationality etc etc she was getting the airtime & you can’t help feel it has some influence on scoring. I wouldn’t put to much emphasis on who’s better than who in the 6N

JJ stronger in that role than Winks it’ll be fine. The talking point would be Skipp or Winks, could argue our best game of the season we had Winks, JJ & Ramsey as the 3 “midfield” players so you’d think just swapping Ramsey out for Mukasa would be the pick, least then you have 3 players not scared of the ball. Be tough on Skipp maybe but needs must, we need to get the ball up top & just go on the attack. Skipp can be Winks replacement to keep energy up.

I don’t want to be salty but refs seems to be awfully quick to give England yellows, last w/end was a joke but today Pollock gets pinged straight from restart whilst IRE on the line & score but when England got their try IRE had 2 maybe 3 pens against them in a very similar position to Pollock yet didn’t even get spoken to 🤷‍♂️

Can we now stop all the “generational talent” crap about who’s coming out of our academy, this lad has more talent than all of them and yet some still picking holes in him during the match thread. They are on course to be decent players & have decent careers but not 1 of them is a generational talent.

If he goes he goes, kids 15 if his parents moved to Germany for a job chances are he’d go with them and the academy would work something out with a German club. The club can only walk them to a pitch they can’t make them play in blue until they are old enough to sign. He’s a long way from appearing in anyone’s 1st team currently there’s a lot of growing up to be done, you just hope who ever he listens to are grounded and see a bigger picture.

The players we have are the players we have so not expecting to much in the way of change to the starting 11 but what I do want to see is in game management, action not reaction & 5 subs being utilised early enough to make a difference tactically as well as just to keep energy levels up through the team, this is what’s been lacking from those on the sideline. PS It should go without saying that anyone who is picked should be crawling off with exhaustion when times up & ooh yes Ayew should not be at the ground in any capacity, but I’ll say it just to ensure.
