The comments on BBC sport are critical to say the least. However I agree with his comments that Leicester went for damage limitation at half time in Manchester in taking Vardy off and adding a defensive midfielder. It must have been a frustrating watch for those who travelled and have seen City win at the Etihad in the past

It is all about setting the ground rules with players at the onset. This doesn't sound like the time to introduce changes or setting examples surely it can wait until the summer. The club needs to be sending out the best possible squad and it worries me that Winks is not part of that.
-
Agree asking Winks to stay over for a night doesn't seem excessive. I wonder how he was asked and how much the manager engages with some of the players particularly with the lack of squad rotation

I can’t help thinking that the embarrassment of another potential sacking within such a short period is allowing Ruud more time.If Ipswich and Southampton pick up a few points and Leicester’s run continues it might be sooner. No replacement is going to want to start by adding relegation to their CV.
-
Tricky one. The club would have to insist on a huge drop in wages and if he stays the usual complacency could set in and no serious attempt made to find a replacement. Daka didn't score many last season and one this term so Leicester are going to need to recruit 2 more strikers at least if he goes. On balance I think Jamie deserves a new opportunity maybe abroad for one more season but I hope he remains linked to the club in the future in some role maybe motivational

Although Winks has had a tough season he does have quality on the ball and agree it is the fee Leicester paid for Skipp that is the biggest issue he is not a bad player. Soumare is too inconsistent and watching the highlights was jogging back for the first goal and not getting the challenges in which has been a problem before. I accept he has had a few decent games earlier in the season. I'd really like a major overhaul in midfield next week as only Bilal seems to be creating anything and that is very limited. Leicester need to look at the whole squad with a view to the Championship and fringe players need a run out. I'm not saying the squad has been good enough all season but it has underperformed due to increasingly negative tactics which have had no impact on goals conceded whilst draining confidence going forward

When will we score our 10th PL goal under RVN?

The decision to take Vardy off at half time for tactical reasons clearly indicated that at 2 0 games are written off. But to be honest the latest changes with 2 strikers giving the impression on paper of a threat with almost zero support won’t work IMO. There is a lack of quality and goals from midfield and I wonder what players like Ricardo, Winks. Mavididi and Facundo have to do to get a starting place when we need to take a few risks to create something -
Expected goals 0.02 only 1 attacking midfielder and so little creativity. All too negative. At least Ipswich and Southampton are managing to get on the scoresheet things with Leicester so predictable
-
So few changes Daka and Soumare have been struggling but seem set in the team. Winks not even on the bench and I think Bilal will find it difficult to provide creativity on his own

Will you go to any more matches this season?

There were a lot of empty seats for the United game I’m not sure the official figures of 31773 are accurate. I’ve had enough of fixtures at odd times like Sunday or Monday nights and the emails if you miss the odd game but I’ll try to get to most of them -
I can't help thinking that the fact that Southampton and Ipswich are in a similar position has perhaps given the hierarchy some freedom to consider this to be normal as a promoted club. There is nothing to suggest any change is imminent at any level but surely the whole club needs reflect on the season and maybe the ownership need to get some independent advice.
-
There was almost total silence when the second goal went in and for several minutes afterwards. The anger that we saw has gone it is more resignation than apathy IMO

I don’t think the club did enough homework before appointing either manager and very little direction to new staff was given about the players that were being inherited. Leicester are still experimenting with players recruited in 2021 that Rodgers didn’t particularly rate. On top of that only 1 player recruited last summer/January was starting yesterday. Going to be a huge undertaking for any manager to sort
-
Having 2 strikers is fine but really not sure where the service is coming from. Still feel that keeping things tight is number one in the managers thoughts
-
I remember in Jan 2016 watching Leicester beating Spurs last minute at Surfside in Holetown. Robert Huth scored. Not too many City fans in the bar but fantastic start to the holiday.
-
It is nice to hear that Luke Thomas had a good game and he is an option. However I just don't think playing several full backs rather than pure wingers is going to be any sort of answer when the club is so short of goals. The thinking presumably is that they can give some width and defend as well. But it is all too half hearted Leicester really need to have more than 3 attackers on the pitch.

Chelsea 1-0 LCFC, post match thread

I think the team selections are always too much of a compromise to achieve very much going forward and we know that Leicester will concede. Just 3 attack minded players virtually no goal threat from midfield when we need 3 points and changes again made very late in the day -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Ultimately I don’t think the squad is strong enough and he hasn’t been supported in the market However I found it hard listening to Ruud being critical of players for lack of press and a passive approach when for so many weeks the line up has felt like damage limitation. -
West Ham United away, AKA eat, sleep, Decordova-Reid repeat.
Edingleyfox replied to Pliskin's topic in Leicester City Forum
I know Leicester won last time the teams met but I think WHU had about 30 shots on goal and there were some great saves. Going to have to dig deep tonight not concede early and look to counter. To be honest can’t see it but really hope I’m wrong -

This week was the first time Ruud has said that the team isn't good enough. But I think the team selections and lack of risk taking has been an issue for some time and rather gives away the lack of belief in going toe to toe with other teams. Of course RVN and SC may have been right being cautious this season given the lack of pace and some quality throughout the team. However, from my angle I'd rather lose 5 2 than 4 0 and I'd like to see the whole squad given a chance. There is nothing more demoralising than going every week and maybe one change or less in the starting 11. -
It has been one of those seasons typical of struggling sides when Leicester have set up defensively with experienced players and looked neat against some top sides without really creating. The problem has come when Leicester play teams just above in the table and need to get out of second gear to stretch the play. You can’t just change mindsets and mistakes happen all over the pitch. I would make changes in central midfield and bring Facundo in but the squad has been dismantled over the last 3 years and losing KDH has been massive. The Brentford game reminded me of the late 70s when we were relegated
-
I’m certainly not going to criticise people for leaving early on a Friday night in the pouring rain with the team 3 or 4 goals down. It was always going to be a difficult night because expectations were higher than the Arsenal game. The ground looked half empty and the atmosphere was very subdued until 10 minutes before kick off and 20 minutes into the match quite a few knew the writing was on the wall and couldn’t face any more of it.

Not a lot of imagination

Things do seem to have changed this season. If you miss a match they send a questionnaire which reminds you of the option to sell or forward the ticket. I don’t remember an option to state illness as a reason for non attendance unless it has changed recently. Overall the ability to sell or forward tickets looks good on paper but it doesn’t take too much to use up these options and of course fixtures are often moved and a lot of us have to commute a fair distance. Hopefully someone at the club has the authority to be more flexible when there is prolonged or serious illness.

Wolves kept the intensity going for 97 minutes used all their substitutes. I’d be happy if we could see that at Leicester
