I think our loan business has been decent really. Edouard has been awful but other recent loans (Buonanotte, Fatawu, Yunus, Doyle) have had positive impacts.

Conor Coady (signed for Wrexham, official.)
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to Iran's topic in Transfer Talk
Would be happy to see him leave. Similar to Matt Upson's tenure here - a player with some qualities but massively living off their reputation built when they were a younger player. -
I live in Oxford, Brannagan is a hero here. Friends who support them have long wondered why he's not been pinched by a bigger club. Came through the Liverpool academy and has been easily the best player at Oxford for years and years. Club captain and runs the local kids academies during the summers. We signed Matt Elliott from Oxford at the same age. Different position and football has changed significantly, but still!

Risky. Both teams had won the league the season before he arrived as well. Fenecvaros are on something like 7 or 8 in a row...

Highlights and lowlights 2024-2025 Season

Highlight - getting the late equaliser at Forest, which ultimately denied them Champion's League! -
Wilfred Ndidi (signed for Besiktas 9m)
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to FrankieADZ's topic in Transfer Talk
He'd done that around 200 times before this season as well. I like having him at the club but his best days seem a long way behind him now. He's well settled here and I can't see him getting a significantly better offer elsewhere. -
Wilfred Ndidi (signed for Besiktas 9m)
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to FrankieADZ's topic in Transfer Talk
If he couldn't get a better club when available for free last summer, what's he done in the last season to persuade one to pay £9m for him? -
Priority has to be a striker. No idea who that would be - ideally under 25, proven to score goals in the Championship or equivalent foreign division. I wouldn't be surprised if we went in for Cameron Archer from Southampton. Fans would likely be underwhelmed but I think if supported by Bilal, Fatawu and BEK he'd score loads.
-
Would like to see him stay here - more than useful in the Championship, and would have been better in our midfield this season than Soumare.
-
If we can get him, Dyche is the obvious answer. Could win promotion and keep us up, lives locally and is ruthless enough to cut through the bell ends at the club. We need wholesale changes at board and player level too, though.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
That's harsh. Ruud deserves a chance at Forest and Coventry before being written off. -
No "all of a sudden" about it, I've absolutely hated Wout Faes for years! Can't wait for the day he leaves the club. Agree that Vestegaard is rubbish, but IMO he's still better than Faes or Coady. TBF I'd be happy seeing whoever out best U21 centre back is ahead of them all.
-
I know nothing about their real life personalities, but they've been less shit on the pitch than Coady/Faes or Soumare... I said 'better' at first but that seemed too much praise! Would love to see the back of the lot of them.

Can't polish a turd, but we can stop playing some of them. Mads Ricardo Veste Okoli Thomas Winks Ndidi Skipp Buona BEK Vardy

Mediocrity would be a massive step up from this utter shite. -
Bad eggs shipped out and replaced with players on an upward trajectory. Keep Pereira and Vardy for experience - everyone else 27+ can leave for whatever we can get for them. GK: Jakub / New RB: Ricardo / New LB: Woyo / Thomas CB: Souttar / Nelson CB: Okoli / New MC: Skipp / Golding MC: New / Braybrooke RW: Fatawu / McAteer LW: Mavididi / Munga / Briggs AM: El Khannouss / Alves CF: New / Evans / Vardy El Khannouss will probably want to leave but I'd love to see him in the Championship. Could be tricky with wages, but I really hope Faes, Soumare, Coady and Reid leave the club. At least we can be confident Ward and Edouard won't be stinking the place up after May... surely??

Ex Players - They used to play for us
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Joe Dodoo always makes me think of this Seems like he made a decent enough career for some good clubs in the 3rd tier. Strange that he hasn't had a club between the age of 27-29... hopefully he makes the most of this new opportunity. -
Love the optimism but in reality I think it would be at most: - £30m for Mads - £12m for Ndidi - £8m for Soumare The rest we'll be lucky to shift on their wages, so it'll probably be they stay or get loans. The other sellable assets are probably Bilal (25m) and Kristiansen (10m). Maybe somebody would take a chance on Fatawu but coming off a big injury I'd be surprised.

Plane Banner - Liverpool at home.
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to ozvaldo's topic in Leicester City Forum
All for people expressing themselves how they like and I hope others respect me in the same way. I can't get behind 'King Power Out'. They continue to invest in the club - £80m odd spent last summer, after years on years of spending more than we recouped, writing off debts and investing in local charities. Yes almost all of that recent spend has been wasted, but it's the people making the decisions on who to buy we should criticise, not the guy signing the cheques. There is definitely accountability needed for Top and his family, he has shown far too much loyalty and faith in poor appointments. I think we should be focusing our efforts on getting those executives changed, not calling for new owners. I'm sorry but it also feels crass to be sending a message like that in the airspace where the man's dad lost his life in service to the club. -
I hope you're right, but why are you so confident?

LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'm sure this is preaching to the converted but something has to change even if just to show that 14 losses out of 15 and 7 home losses in a row without scoring is unacceptable. However, I have so little confidence that a worthwhile person would be appointed I want deeper changes before giving a new contract to a new manager. 1. Sack Rudkin / whoever is making board decisions 2. Appoint their replacements 3. Get them to do a genuine root and branch review, and if they so decide bring in a new manager. Saying that, RVN has checked out so we might as well as put an interim in charge til the end of the season. -
