Yeah, he played in the CONCACAF this summer. In other seasons this would be a sensible signing - could be a Tony Cottee, or at the very least a Kevin Phillips. But we have too many players past their peak already - unless we can move BDCR and Ayew on, I'd pass on this.

Sorry mate, I didn't mean any offence I'm invested in this issue because my wife had post-natal depression and we have a friend whose wife killed herself with post-partum psychosis. While I don't know Winks' personal situation, my life experience is that early parenthood can be really difficult. This literally became an issue as soon as Winks became a dad. it was clearly mishandled - RVN banished a player who had been starting from the squad. Being a dad / husband comes first and commuting in the morning instead of travelling the day before feels a small trade-off, which plenty of footballers do. Regardless, I say what's been has been - let's give the lads still with the club a clean slate under a new manager

Fair enough if you care but I'm really not bothered where they live tbh. Lots of players live far away and this was the first time we've had a fall out like this. I remember listening to a podcast where Kasper said a lot of our title winning team would travel down on match days from Manchester. If it is an issue, manage it in-house. Briefing publicly against a new dad's professionalism is not a way to deal with an internal matter.

Wasn't it that he didn't have kids under Enzo or Cooper. After his wife had a baby, he stopped wanting to stay overnight so he could spend more time with his baby. I don't think it's an unreasonable request, and I think even if it was it could have been managed in a far more professional way by Ruud. Regardless, for me everyone gets a clean slate under the new manager. The past is the past, and Winks can be a very useful player in a Marti Cifuentes Leicester team.

Bilal has potential, but Maddison and Barnes were much more likely to leave than him. They had 19 and 14 goal contributions in their relegation season, Bilal had 5. They were in their prime and could attract big moves - Bilal’s time may come, but for now he’d likely join another struggler. A strong season in the Championship would do more for his career than another year getting battered in the Prem.

Not seen a huge amount of either, but Tommy Conway at Boro and Tyrese Campbell at Sheffield United both seem like decent and realistic options. Funny thing about Daka is that if we were signing somebody with his pre-Leicester stats, a lot of our fans would be creaming themselves about it. Just shows there is always a big element of uncertainty around any signing. Maybe he will improve once out of Vardy's shadow... but sadly I don't have too much hope.

Beat me to it. Let the lad actually break into the first team before asking him to lead it Obvious route is Ricardo Pereira with Harry Winks as vice. Wouldn't be against giving Mavididi a bit of extra responsibility as vice.

This is what I always think as well. In truth none of us know what happens day-to-day inside a football club. Something is clearly wrong but I have no idea if it's structural, due to external constraints or due to a person's inadequacies.

I think O'Neil could be a good appointment. Brings through young players and has a better Prem record than many who have dominated the Champ.

It's all about balance. We absolutely need players who will improve, but they also benefit from having experienced players next to them. Any signing is a gamble but Adams and Brownhill feel like decent additions tbh.

That argument falls flat when Faes has looked awful under 4x managers, 4x keepers and about 8x centre-back partners - and keeps flirting with moves away during every transfer window. But nobody bites, because they've seen him play. Ever since Faes joined we've had a shambolic defence, and he's been central to that. And his attitude stinks. I agree football criticism can be over the top and the whining on this forum/going to the ground can't half get tedious, but we all have our pressure points. Few players get under my skin like he does. The only thing he excels at is being an absolute bell end

Faes has been publicly flirting with other clubs to force a move the last three summers. Every time anyone else makes a mistake he throws a strop. When it's him he just laughs. Plus he's shit at football. Just realised maybe you posted the above in case scouts are checking the forums to see how his current club rate him. Thinking about it, I agree with you - he's a great player who would be a superb asset to any club on the pitch and in the dressing room

I agree but playing devil's advocate... For his faults, RVN had a strong character. Didn't do him much good.

I find it strange Demarai Gray played 169 times for us - only 10 fewer games than Mahrez, and more than players like Taggart (142) and Fuchs (145). Other than Cardiff (a) and Everton (h) I can't remember him doing much at all on the pitch. The thing I think of first about him is when he almost decapitated himself at the PFA Awards. A few years ago I'd have hated it, but now I think he's what we need. The team (/club) has a serious lack of leadership. Dyche has that in spades. I really think he'd get us promoted and keep us there.

Fine as a back up. We have two young keepers, and at least one will move on. Always a place for an experienced senior in the dressing room, and I'd rather that be a sub keeper than a starting outfield player.

Evan Ferguson would be my top choice, preferably permanent but loan if his fee is too high. He'd score loads at this level and also be a great foil for Fatawu, Mavididi, BEK, Monga etc. Reality is we'll have to get somebody who's a risk or a bit broken. Ferguson is the best realistic option in my opinion.
