The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)

Agree with all this. I've never paid attention to the classification either - No idea what a 'Neutral' shoe is compared to others I just make sure they are pretty light and have decent energy return based on the reviews here - https://runrepeat.com/ If they wear quickly or cause blisters I never buy them again. For example, I've always been surprised people love the Novablasts so much - The pair I had felt pretty good underfoot, but had a hole in the upper after about 3 weeks...which is pretty rubbish! SL's are in a completely different league IMO, but everyone is different. -

Yeah, good point. It's not something I've ever considered to be honest...been running daily for nearly 15 years and I have no idea what my 'style' is. Never bothered with a gait analysis or anything like that, but it's definitely something I'd consider if I was picking up a lot of injuries. -

Just picked up a pair of Pro 4's for just under £150 ...to try to force myself into racing a bit more! Love the SL's so I'm expecting big things. -
A couple of average at best performances and people are getting called out for being 'overly negative' if they dare be critical! Most accepting fan base in the country, surely!

Horrendous cold on the 1st has pretty much ruined my February running-wise. Only missed 5 days but it's just been slow running since with higher than usual HR etc etc. Things been improving since last Wednesday so I'm going for a session today - 6 x 6 minutes at threshold. Genuinely nervous about it! -
'Stupid baby' or not, the current squad will struggle in League One - We'll be in a relegation battle next year as well.
-
Drop 2015/16 Kante into this team and we'd win all the remaining games. Genuinely believe that.
-
Much better last night. That performance against Stoke though? Not sure even Faes or Vestergaard have ever been that bad!
-
Neither can defend either. Awful.

Can we please have one of those ‘new manager bounces’, feel like we never get one! Win the next 5 before we inevitably go to shit again would be nice.

Realistic Managerial Replacements
James_lcfc replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
Surely lots of managers who back themselves would take a deal until the end of the season with a decent survival bonus? Not sure that's even looking at it through blue-tinted glasses. Plus I don't think it would even hurt a manager's reputation that much if we did go down - Just chalk it up to us being too far gone. There are still upsides to us as well (I think!). Get lucky with Summer recruitment and getting players out and next season is a fresh start. -
LCFC 3-4 Southampton, post-match thread

We’re still miles off rock bottom yet aren’t we… Proper mess. -
Mark Davies is always the one that stands out for me. He was top level PL quality playing in League One - Great fun to watch.
-
I think we’re almost down to the levels of the 2004-2008 era. Not quite there yet as that dragged on for a few seasons before we were relegated, but it’s desperate at the moment. We look an absolute mess on and off the pitch.
-
He's League 1/2 level. Really shouldn't be playing in the Championship.
-
Just not a player I enjoy watching and I could see that the first time I watched him. I guess he's not absolutely terrible if you get him in the right system, but I can't wait for him to leave.
-
Even by our standards, this is bad.
-
Thought they were the worst team we've played against so far in the home fixture...and we still couldn't beat them. 2-0 loss incoming.
-
We're just an embarrassment all round. Lost count of the amount of times I've thought; "These are terrible, how does it seem they have an extra man on the pitch". ...guess this sort of stat will be a reason for that!

Running is going pretty well at the moment so I'm ready for it to all come crashing down with a Christmas illness I seem to get every year! Really hoping I can avoid it though and increase the mileage a little bit with the extra time off, so we shall see. Built up to 3 threshold sessions/week now and am noticing some decent fitness gains without running really hard which is nice! -

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast

Only caught up with the latest episode last night. 'You know, if Kylie Minogue shows you her arsehole, it's too early to be talking about retirement and visas'. ...made me laugh out loud and I have no idea what it even means. -
He can win you a game on his own, but a lot of his decision making just puts us in trouble. It's almost like if he isn't scoring or assisting in a game, he's an actual hindrance to the team rather than a help. Reminds me of early Grealish for Villa. You could tell he was quality, but I always liked him being on the opposite team as he would constantly give the ball away in dangerous areas.

Didn’t deserve the draw, never mind the win. On to the next one!
