  1. This quote referred to HT against Wolves? I understand from his point of view why he would want to be taken off, he'd made mistakes which led to his own fans booing him, but that mentality isn't great.
  2. Personally I never understood the calls for him to play for England when he was at Wolves, granted he was okay there but mainly in a sweeper role in a back three. The fact we paid £7.5m for him, at 30/31 years of age, was a joke. Another stupid decision where we will just lose on him without him really contributing to us.
  3. They were lucky that Pearson wanted to return here and without Pearson we wouldn't have been promoted. Which was even more evident with them appointing Sousa and then Sven, throwing cash around, and getting nowhere.
  4. This is exactly my issue with it. Also consider that one of those players, Buonanotte, has been one of our better players prior to Van Nistelrooy's arrival. There are more senior players that have consistently underperformed under him but get picked every week regardless.
  5. Yeah, I listened to Mills on that podcast at that time and never once believed what he said. I don't believe Pearson would throw insults around like that with no reason.
  6. We should have been looking at good enough replacements years before Kasper left. Then we he did leave, we'd have a goalkeeper ready to replace him as our number one. Same with Vardy now.
  7. Pearson got rid of those players, and rightly so, I highly doubt he went around screaming at players who didn't play though. Pearson's man management was second to none. Since then though Vestergaard was reported to be made to train with the reserves under Rodgers, he even did an interview criticising Rodgers at the time, yet people chose to back the player because they didn't like the manager. Rodgers spoke of a "refresh" years ago, which never happened (not a surprise), and again people laughed at him for saying it. The players have far to much power at the club. Even all the way back to the sacking of Ranieri.
  8. What am I reading. What a circus this season has been.
  9. As long as they get a penalty he will.
  10. Football is mad. We've made profit on a player who has played a handful of games for us. Sheffield United love overspending on strikers.
  11. I haven't bought stuff in the concourse for years at home games. Probably a decade now. Home or away I head to a pub, before the game, for a few pints and some food
  12. They've just sold Philogene for nearly £25m, and that's a nice profit for them for him playing a handful of games too. I think Villa know what they're doing now.
  13. For a club that's hailed so much.. Club loyalty is dead. Wasn't that long ago that ground opened and Brighton were averaging 10,000 less than they do now. Now if you miss 5 games without selling on you can't auto renew your season ticket Jokers.
  14. Pleased to read Ginnetta says some people want to boycott, as I'd imagine all those will go, but paying for a ticket but also taking a banner about ticket prices seems a bit weird. Better than nothing I guess though.
  15. Release date is supposed to be this Friday (24th).
  16. Brentford H is the game I think we could get something. Most of their good results come at home. Even though Tottenham are a mess and Everton are poor, I can't see us getting anything in either game.
  17. A lot of our fans says "be careful what you wish for" so I don't think it's just a media/other fans thing.
  18. Similar to what Iain Hume got all those years ago. Mind you, people actively clapped Castagne on Saturday despite the fact he helped us get relegated then said he didn't want to play in the Championship.
  19. To be honest I don't think he's great. Couldn't have done anything with the goals again at the weekend but he doesn't seem confident enough to me, doesn't talk enough, a couple times now he's hesitated and the centre backs have ended up having to ask him to come.
  20. Of course the goalkeeper is massive but we were scoring goals here and there. We didn't lose to relegation rivals like we do now. We went away to Palace and only dropped points because of a defender mistake, for example. I'm not arguing Cooper did or did not deserve to go. I think he did and at the time I was pleased we sacked him. However people are now using excuses for Van Nistelrooy when it's been even worse under him.
  21. In 22/23 we actually had quality players so you, and others, being delusional then was fine. This season we have no quality. It's like an impeding relegation.
  22. These disinterested, overpaid, lazy and talentless group of players have been here all season. But Cooper was picking up points with them here and there. Van Nistelrooy has to take some blame, he is picking the same players every week, performing the same strange subs every week, and expecting a different result. The man for building this mess should be sacked, dead right, but this wasn't used as the excuse for Cooper. The criticism he took was way over the top and now I'm glad people are finally seeing this squad is awful.
  23. Vestergaard would make our worse defence. He has nothing. Over 6 foot yet never wins a header (unless it's free), not strong enough and gets knocked off the ball easily, has no pace and can't run, gets turned easily. All for £15m plus whatever stupid wage he is on. Worse defender I've seen here given the money the club has spent on him.
  24. Of course we have no divine right to be in the top flight, no team does, but I'd like to see us as a stable top flight club and not relegated. We over spent on really bad players. I wish people would kill this idea that we over spent to compete. You do that by actually spending on good players. We signed rubbish players, put them on stupid contracts and we are now paying the price for it. No other club would continually reward rubbish with contracts, large contracts at that. How can people "get over it". We're in a relegation battle.
  25. I've always felt we're to loyal. Even see posts on here about keeping a player around the club. Doesn't happen at any other club and no other top flight club would have their 37/38 year old legend as their main striker. However it isn't Vardy's fault we have not recruited well, all strikers that have come in to replace him haven't looked good enough and at the end of the day he has still scored 6 in 19 goals this season for a club in a relegation battle.
