It was almost sad about how much hope was suddenly generated by a win against a half-hearted Bristol City, whose season has dissipated into midtable mediocrity, and I'd take that right now. They made us look brilliant, and by association, lulled a majority of our fanbase into a false sense of security. Half believing we had turned the corner and this would be our springboard to survival. A squad like this suddenly don't become defensively first-class overnight. We all know that if Stolarcyzk didn't save that penalty, heads would have dropped and that momentum would have shifted. I simply didn't buy it when we lucked our way to a first clean sheet since 20th September. Our major defensive flaws remain, and JJ/Fatawu aside, our blunt attacking prowess remains. If we survive it will near enough be by a single point, or goal difference. There is time to turn this shitfest around, but we are running out of time, nor can I see it being a comfortable run in, expecially when it is mathematically out of our hands. Hear that? That's a certain someone warming up her vocal chords, nearly 10 years after Andrea Bocelli serenaded us with Nessun Dorma. Oh, how far we have fallen, and it could get so much worse.

Starting Ayew was a shocker. Not refreshing the team at half time was a mistake, we could all see the momentum had shifted and yet he did nothing. And making the hotheaded/rash Choudhury captain makes no sense to me. Not a great day at the office for Gary.
