Silverdaz Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Best striker partnership since Linekar and Smith they just work so well together
Larry_LCFC Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 The pair of them without confidence is like watching a Sunday league strike partnership. When they actually have some, they are brilliant. Both run their socks off, both increase the pace of the game, and can both finish. Lets hope they stay on that high for the rest of the season. Vardy is lethal in this form. Just ask United.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 agreed, I will be gutted if either of them are dropped between now and the end of the season, especially for overpriced and inadequate replacements. Honestly think we should have just played with last year's team all this year with minor tweaks

Defence has barely touched Cambiasso was bought in in midfield and Ulloa up front. Albrighton and Upson have barely featured.
Larry_LCFC Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Pearson was right to drop them both during the season. They were playing awful and couldn't finish their dinner. They have both come back with a point to prove and fair play to Pearson to acknowledging that and letting them play.

foxfanazer Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 They make things happen, simple as that! Even when they just miss out from taking the ball from the opposition defenders you can tell it worries them and rushes them into rash clearances and misplaced passes. If they both sharpen up in front of goal a bit then they would be the perfect partnership for a lower prem team
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Partnerships partnerships partnerships That instinctive knowing each others game Crucial IMO.

RedSoxUK Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Since the away game at Everton when Nigel subbed Vardy/Nuge on, things have changed. I wasn't happy when Nigel brought them on in that game because they've more often than not done **** all when being on the pitch, so to see Vardy get an assist and Nugent a goal in that game started their run of confidence and form. It's continued to pay dividends. IMO They have to start every week right until the end.
Mayofox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 The BBC have Vardy in their Team of the Week, while here in Ireland the Independent have Nugent in their team.
LCCFox96 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 They are both willing hard workers and wear their hearts on their sleeves. That means at the very worst we are going to get an energetic performance with plenty of commitment. However, when on their current level of form they are a handful for any Premiership defence. Their energy and desire are infectious throughout the rest of the team and that's exactly what we need right now.
DennisNedry Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Best striker partnership since Linekar and Smith they just work so well together They are a decent partnership but there have been numerous better since Lineker and Smith. Heskey/Cottee and Deane/Dickov come to mind immediately, probably others as well.
Finn Claw II Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Very difficult do drop either of them at the moment. It's great having strikers on form for the run in. They both help us defend from the front which given our inability to protect the back 4 all season is pretty important.

Guest Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 The BBC have Vardy in their Team of the Week, while here in Ireland the Independent have Nugent in their team. Has Vardy been in the BBC team of the week as many times as Cambiclasso?
fuchsntf Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Actually, this thread bares out if somewhat indirectly what I have been trying to say all season. Because of pre-season or 1st 2 game injuries, our Backbone of players from last season we through no fault of the manager have needed a long time, for those players to find their feet and rythm, and re-kindle partnerships to the higher qualities of the PL. Add that to trying to compliment new players in, into all areas where major-stays were out with long injuries. Drinkwater, Vardy, James, Mahrez, and knokky never started fully fit, so couldnt start to build from last seasons momentum. Plus every single city player took till January, to show the simple discipline of giving off the easy pass, and being able to hold and control the ball, to even schoolboy standards.Cambiasso had avg games, but was made to look better, because the others forgot what a ball looked like. Its took us well into 2015 to give any decent service and not hospital passes to the front men.We were used to Nugent to regularly falling back, then turning up in that forward space, but you cant have him and Ulloa, or krameric doing the same.James like Vardy has taken time to blend in again yes a 1/3 of a year, to show again their potential. Hammond, King held their own damn well at the beginning, but they kept taking hits and have struggled on the injury issue.Pearson didnt swap and change out of vanity, he didnt have a stable group of players, but unlike Dyche has never used it has an excuse in week after week interviews. When Pearson tried to work around this, and out of form players, he gets criticised for swapping and changing, or questioned why certain players were not preffered or a system not adhered to. When he gets those players on the pitch he really wants, they then show they cant stop, tackle or control the simple things. Drinkwater , at times James and King are good examples, its nice and interessting even with some losses, the last 6-9 games theres been progress in the ball use, and discipline.

You're not the only one it seems. If you’ve looked at Foxestalk today you’ll see that the last two wins prove what everybody has been saying all season!
desertfox2 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Best striker partnership since Linekar and Smith they just work so well together Have a word... yes I lOve them both but realistically how far will we go with them? Not exactly bale Ronaldo and benzema
FLINTHAMFC Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Jesus it's been a while since I thought of deep freeze. The Premier League is a massive step up in quality and I think Vardy and Nugent are growing into it. I remember the season before last most people thought Vardy should go back to non league football. We have to give the players time to adapt and grow into the PL. Hopefully we will do enough to stay up and I think the team will better for the experience and kick on next season. Patience is key.
AKCJ Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Have a word... yes I lOve them both but realistically how far will we go with them? Not exactly bale Ronaldo and benzema Don't think he suggested anything like it... Although Cottee-Heskey is still the best in my lifetime.
Sir Fynwy Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Don't think he suggested anything like it... Although Cottee-Heskey is still the best in my lifetime. Personally I think that the strike partnership of Collymore and Heskey was the best I've seen at city but it only lasted for 1 game.
Bert Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Wouldn't say they're better than the Heskey Cottee partnership but they make such a difference when they play together.
