Haydos Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Leon Osman Jose Fonte Vaclav Kadlec Fonte? Why would he come here? He's been one of the best CB's in the league this year playing for a Southampton side in Europe next season

Haydos Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Great response. and the question was "who would you like to see?" so a legit choice. I'd like to see Messi and Ronaldo. That's obviously not the point in this thread. Fair enough suggesting but I'm just pointing out it's not realistic. Gignac is an interesting one, is he actually out of contract this summer? I haven' heard or read much about him this season despite him bagging a truckload of goals this season. I would think there'd be more attractive suitors than us but it might be worth a sniff. Trippier is another but I'm not that up on him. I know he's a threat going forward and obviously one of Burnley's better players but how's his defensive work? How about Jonny Evans? I think I read he's either out of contract or allowed to leave this summer. Premier League experience at a top club. Seems like he's on a similar career path to Huth, albeit a few years younger. Still gutted we didn't get Cresswell. What is Lucas Digne up to at the moment? Out of our league? Too young? He seems to have gone a bit stagnant at PSG.
desertfox2 Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Anyone seen much of eibar this season? Who are their best players? Anyone playing for them would be available as they have practically 0 budget. I haven't seen them play but to get to la liga on their budget or lack of they must have a few good players.

I can't see a young player who is playing champion's league and winning cups and league's in France coming to LCFC. but I'd take him in a second.

Just had these responses elsewhere... http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/34i4j3/lucas_dignewhats_his_situation/ Seems he's second choice by a long way and hasn't kicked on as expected. Also might be on a fair whack and a loan move would be more likely.

Haydos Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 He's a French international at 21. He has played in the CL. No way he would be interested in Leicester. Arsenal but no lower. Bojan ended up at Stoke. Very similar boat. Lack of opportunities. Development had slowed. Overrated.
Dan Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Bojan is about 26 though isn't he? Turns out he's 24. One hell of a coup. Think Digne's a bit unrealistic though.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Can't believe the fee Stoke paid for Bojan, I'm reading £3,000,000... there's got to be a hefty sell-on clause in that deal.

Yeah that was a great buy for Stoke. He was really starting to look class before he got injured. Speaking of Barca Ibrahim Afellay is out of contract at the end of the season. On loan at olympiakos they apparently want to sign him up but the lure of the Prem is always there. Spurs are interested but not sure where they would play him. Could be the attacking midfielder we need and can play out wide as well. Whoever gets him, great signing on a free
Guest Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Bojan ended up at Stoke. Very similar boat. Lack of opportunities. Development had slowed. Overrated. Okay. Have it your way. But there's no way he'll come to Leicester.
Haydos Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Okay. Have it your way. But there's no way he'll come to Leicester. I'm not saying he will. But there was no way Cambiasso would come to Leicester either. Obviously it's completely hypothetical anyway. If you google his name there's enough articals suggesting it's time to move on for him and that he should go somewhere for game time. Would a Champs League club/someone like Arsenal gamble on him being a starter for them after his underwhelming time at PSG? Is he going to move to sit on the bench. I'm not sure how much his wages would be but I think this is the sort of calibre we should be aiming for. That being said, he's young, not had a huge amount of game time and obviously completely new to the Premier League so I'm not sure it's something we can gamble on either.
Guest Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Cambiasso is an old man who has won a lot but never sampled Prem football. He could step down from the heights to play in the prem for us. If you can't see the difference between that and a 21yo international playing champions league football - not sure I can help you. If he is daft enough to leave PSG he'll have many better options

Maybe you're right, I'm just throwing things out there.

Still he was a reasonable offer.
MPH Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 If we stay up, and Cambiasso signs on again for another year.... he could be VERY instrumental in persuading a player or two to sign for us....

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 If we stay up, then Pearson will have to do far better in the close season, than he did last year. Without knowing our fate, it is pointless naming players we need. Let's get the job done first, of staying up.

Still he was a reasonable offer. Pretty sure he has. And that's why I mentioned a loan, like Isla's. 26 is the later stage of a career now?
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 May 2015 Posted 2 May 2015 Bloody Hell...Cambiasso this, Cambiasso that...its still going.. Why are people fooled by this argument that Cambiasso somehow did us a favour by joining Leicester? He was not offered another contract at Inter I believe? In footballing terms, he's an old geezer who Inter were willing to release. WE gave HIM another option. One of joining a newly promoted club, on a decent salary, to play in the Premiership. Now...since he's joined he's been nothing other than a model professional. But I assume he was very happy we gave him the chance. As for all this..'he could walk into any Premiership side'...no, he couldn't. If any of the bigger clubs had wanted him, they'd have gotten him.
lgfualol Posted 2 May 2015 Posted 2 May 2015 Cambiasso could walk into the Barca team, and you know it Col
