Bluearmy 316 Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 Tripper Huth Robinson Richards Fer and a pacy striker in case vardy gets injured
Danno Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 Richards isn't great, has barely played for Sevilla. Their manager also has had concerns over his fitness and ability to play at centre back.

Danno Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 Him playing for Fiorentina probably explains that to be fair
MC Prussian Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 Him playing for Fiorentina probably explains that to be fair He's featured in all four group stage wins for Fiorentina and was part of the team that beat Spurs in the following round. So, based on his Serie A appearances, there's some concern. Doesn't take away from the fact that he's been somewhat instrumental in their Europa League success so far.
Foxymcoxy Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 I mean, if we could keep him fit and somewhat motivated Richards would be an amazing signing. Not sure that would be the case though...
tom27111 Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 Richards has just come on at HT for Fiorentina. ITV4 if anyone wants to see if he's still got it.
Haydos Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 Richards would be an absolutely superb signing, can't see him coming here though imagine he'll stay abroad or go to a Tottenham/Everton. Can you explain why he would? He didn't play much at Man City, hasn't played much at Fiorentina. He's made 18 league appearances in the last 3 years. Not worth the risk imo and not the type of person Pearson likes to bring in.
tom27111 Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 He looks crap I was thinking exactly the same. Way off the pace.
Finn Claw II Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 Any English player that is prepared to move country to try to get game time deserves a bit of respect. Richards is a risk but so was Upson albeit in different ways. When he first burst onto the scene I thought he'd be England RB for years

Richards is a risk but so was Upson albeit in different ways. When he first burst onto the scene I thought he'd be England RB for years So did more or less everyone. Not many 18 year olds with 11 England caps to their name. He's obviously gone seriously backwards and not developed at all. He's 26 and can't get a league game with Fiorentina. Someone will have him on reputation alone but it's very likely he'll fail there as well. I just hope it isn't us.
General Smuts Posted 7 May 2015 Posted 7 May 2015 I don't see how Upson was a risk. He was fantastic for Brighton for 2 seasons and was bought in as capable veteran backup.
Gerard Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 I don't see how Upson was a risk. He was fantastic for Brighton for 2 seasons and was bought in as capable veteran backup. My Brighton fan mate told me Upson was player of the season there last year ahead of Ulloa. Not bad when you buy their second best player for £8 million and get their best player for free. It obviously hasn't worked out for Upson here and he'll almost certainly be released.

I think Upson was brought in hoping to do the Huth role. Obviously injury stopped that. Imagine if Upson had played the Huth role for the first 30 games - we'd have been in the CL.
Babylon Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 Micah Richards seems so far from the sort of player you'd think of Pearson going for, just can't see it.

filbertway Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 Would love a player like Richards, if he got anywhere near the form that saw him called up for England when he burst onto the scene we'd have a top player on our hands. Up against Zabaleta he was always going to struggle for game time. Has he got a reputation for having a bad attitude? Genuinely haven't seen anything, so if someone could point me in the direction of any articles that'd be handy. Anyway I doubt this would happen anyway, we'll probably pluck some sexy little number from the Czech Republic equivalent of league one.
AyewJoking Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 He's big, he's black, but can he play left back? "Micah Richards" "Micah Richards"
Fox Ulike Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 He's big, he's black, but can he play left back? "Micah Richards" "Micah Richards" Sorry but you can't say that these days. The correct term is 'left wing-back'.
BigWesMorgan Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 If Hamburg go down: Rene Adler Would be sniffed at by a lot of bigger clubs though
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 If Middlesbrough don't get promoted, how about Grant Leadbitter? I've always rated him and seems a 'Pearson type signing'. Not sure he's any better than what we have now though, I guess.
