Burnley have a better team than QPR, Sunderland and Newcastle.

They're getting relegated because they haven't been positive enough in attack and hence barely won any games.

Dyche obviously miscalculated in thinking he could set up every week to be difficult to break down and that he could nick the odd 1-0 win in the process.

Hasn't worked. Soz Dyche.

dont worry dyche, you'll have more pound notes than anyone next season with parachute payments and the sale of Ings.

Except if Ings goes to Real Sociedad they get nothing.

i'd rank this a very close second to us staying up in my favourite things to happen this season if it happened.

They might not have spent much but they've got plenty of decent players. Fair play for assembling that squad on a budget, but he hasn't got the best out of them. A better manager would have kept that squad up. They're dead and buried with three games to go, not even putting up a fight. Pitiful, just like the man himself.

Wasn't most of it signed by Howe anyway? I remember looking at his transfer record earlier in the season and it being abysmal.

Yes they were and the squad was actually put together for a fair amount of money. In fact fee wise it was only slightly less than the team Pearson took up.

The bloke has done a decent job no doubt, he still had to get them up. The the "spent no money" stuff falls apart when you scratch the surface.

and the fact that all the money he has spent has been spent on absolute shite doesn't help his cause.

we've made one or two big signings but ulloa has scored goals that are going to keep us up, and perhaps we pay cambiasso more than they could afford (although he was a free) but once again his performances are going to be a main reason as to why we're comfortably better than them. then you look at where their money has gone. juke (0 goals), michael keane (part of the worst defense going), matty taylor (has had one thing to do all season and missed) etc etc. they could've just not signed juke and put the 1.5m+ towards cambiasso's wages and probably still had change. but no. cos he's totally inept when it comes to transfers.

he is a good manager/coach (or at least he was last year, debatable this season) in terms of getting some good out of his not very good players, but it seems when it comes to adding and building a squad and tactics he is pathetic.

I personally think Dyche will be a one hit wonder.

As others have said, he inherited a team with very good signings from Eddie Howe and the additional signings he's made have been pony. When players like Ings, Trippier, Barnes, Vokes and Shackell leave, there's no reason to think he'll sign any better replacements considering he thought Sordell and Jutkiewicz would do the business in the Premier League.

They'll go down to midtable as they were before Dyche arrived, unless he improves his record in the transfer market when the likely mass exodus pans out.

Tbf to Dyche, how many Premier league quality players would have wanted to sign for Burnley? We weren't a great catch for a player but compared to Burnley we're virtually champions league.

yeah so you've gotta use your noggin and dip into the lower leagues and find actual quality. vardy would've signed for them from non-league, don't you think? for less than they bought jutkeiwicz might i add.

I thought he did ok with his signings, Barnes has looked a lot sharper at Burnley than he was at Brighton and Boyd has been good.

They have actually been a little unlucky, they could easily have won their last two and be looking more likely than us to stay up, fine margins and all that.

We signed Danny Simpson, Matt Upson and spent £10Million on a player who has barely featured and scored once.

There'll always be misses, and I'd be surprised if Simpson was here next season and Upson hadn't retired, but Kramaric could be an outstanding talent given a summer and a run of games next season.

Obviously we have to stay up first! :fc:

If they had won their last two they would still be behind us.

It wasn't £10m either.

Boyd & Arfield aren't bad

Also I'd add Marney to that list above. They've completely fell apart since he got injured

That'd make 9.

If they had 9 decent players then they wouldn't be bottom of the league unless the manager was shiiiiiiit..

michael keane (part of the worst defense going),

Was it Dickov22 or Col who called Michael Keane a Rolls Royce defender and better than Wasyl?

Imagine it - the only Rolls I'd compare him to would be a Smartprice bag of four wholemeal rolls ejejeththehehehehehe

Dickov - was convinced that Wasyl was a liability after that Berahino dive in November and that Keane was an upgrade on him  :nigel:

He's average at best. Never signed anyone any good. Considering it cost us Cambiasso for a year, Vardy and a lot of change for what he spent on Juke, he can bang on about pound notes all he likes, doesn't make it right. Add to that they got the same money for coming up this year as we did, and even if we went down with the money we've put in we'd be comfortable moving forward, absolutely no reason they couldn't of done the same but they/he has no ambition so fvck him.

Probably wages that has scuppered them, I bet their board fear financial meltdown if they've got more than one player on £15k

Posted

I know he's not got a big squad but he's ran his squad into the ground by never making any changes. He is poor with his subs too, whenever I have seen them he makes a sub after around 80mins.

Posted

They could have easily spent £15m on 3 players and not upset the harmony of their squad. That is why his money argument is so annoying.
