I'd have a lot more admiration for the bloke (who is undoubtedly a good manager) if he didn't make it such a "oh look at them they've spent more than us". Do you ever hear Pearson say that? Which he actually has the right to against literally everyone in the league bar Burnley.

In fairness, the difference in terms of money from the top to the bottom of the league is disgusting, but the fact he feels as if he has to remind everyone of it in every interview he does is bloody annoying. And no one made him piss away his money on Sordell.

Still, he's done a very decent job at Burnley regardless of them being seemingly nailed on for relegation now

He's played an absolute blinder with the media. You have to credit him, no pressure whatsoever from the outside world. I heard Jeff Stelling say that he should be manager next season even if they lost every game.

He's used the media in his favour and it has worked to keep his reputation positive. He speaks well, has done a good job and is fighting against the odds. Just keep letting them know how much and they'll stay off your back.

Wonder whether he'll still be at Burnley next year. You would think that one of the bigger Championship clubs might throw money at him to move...

More people respect him than Nigel because he's used the media to emphasis the on par job he's done, Nige hates the media and they exaggerate the things he does

How many pound notes do you think they'd throw at him?

Maybe double the amount of pound notes he currently gets?

:P

Getting out of that league is so hard. Anyone who has done it is going to be in demand.

I think he'd be very unlucky to be sacked, but that's an absolutely stupid comment from Stelling and I record he'd regret it by about October if it happened.

They might not have spent much but they've got plenty of decent players. Fair play for assembling that squad on a budget, but he hasn't got the best out of them. A better manager would have kept that squad up. They're dead and buried with three games to go, not even putting up a fight. Pitiful, just like the man himself.

Wasn't most of it signed by Howe anyway? I remember looking at his transfer record earlier in the season and it being abysmal.

Yeah, all the appraisals for Dyche falls flat when you realise Burnley's best players were all signed by the previous manager.

Ings

Trippier

Mee

Vokes

Shackell

Austin (for a brief period)

Boyd & Arfield aren't bad

Also I'd add Marney to that list above. They've completely fell apart since he got injured

Dyche was a very lucky man. From memory, Howe left for Burnley for personal reasons, which he then ended up back at Bournemouth. All of them lads were signed by him and now proven to be top end Championship quality.

Obviously Dyche has done a decent job in terms of the structure of the team but he's hardly a mastermind.

This is a man who signed Marvin Sordell to bring off the bench in the Premier League.

25 games, 0 goals.

Ginger Mourinho.

But he must have hit the post at least twice?

Sordell and Jutkiewicz are absolutely unforgivable signings. What on earth was he thinking.

He used to annoy me but I actually think he's hilarious now, he's such a caricature, he must slip in the occasional 'market leaders' or 'many pound notes' comments on purpose. I'm surprised he can keep a straight face.

I don't think it can help the players to be constantly reminded they are worthless and not fit to lick the boots of most of their peers in the same division.

He's basically saying "what am I supposed to do with this jumble of shite from poundland against all these premier league squads".

A bit of expectation management and playing the underdog card is ok but he seems to have gone overboard. He's failed to get the best out of Danny Ings who hasn't done anything since he realised he was leaving. That was always going to be the key for Burnley.

I dont think I would want any of their players here.

Possibly Trippier on a good day, I wouldnt touch Boyd with a pole and Ings seems to have an attitude problem, his head is in Spain with Moyes.

I have an odd feeling that Burnley will start kicking in their death throes. It won't be enough to stay up of course, but I fancy them to win one more game and perhaps grab a draw between now and season's end. Let's hope it's at Hull on Saturday.
