Finnegan Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 3.3m on George Boyd lol Literally the worst premier league footballer of all time. Makes Trevor Benjamin look like the second coming of Fat Ronaldo.
kingcarr21 Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 2.75m on Jutkiewicz is absolutely hilarious. Why on earth Dyche saw him as a player that could perform in the prem ill never know. 3.3m on George Boyd lolLiterally the worst premier league footballer of all time. Makes Trevor Benjamin look like the second coming of Fat Ronaldo. Little bit harsh i think. Not a great footballer but puts a shift in. Surely you would have to put Jutkiewicz as the worst footballer of all time.

So we spent £26 million more than them to get out of the division. I can see why there's always the desire to put Dyche down at any opportunity, but I don't think it's fair to say we spent roughly the same when we clearly haven't. 2013-2014 (2012-2013) Leicester: wages 36.3m (26.8m); turnover 31.2m (19.6m); wages to turnover ratio 116 per cent (136 per cent); loss after tax -20.8m (-34m). Burnley: wages £21.5m (£15.3m); turnover 19.6m (15.2m); wages to turnover ratio 110 per cent (100.6 per cent); loss after tax -4.2m (-7.8m).

You do understand the difference between fees and wages though don't you? It's pretty clear the comparison was about fees spent on players... hence a great bit list of players and their fees. I'm pretty sure everyone is aware that we spend more on wages, not least because we're a bigger club.

Babylon Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 Getting two Albrighton for nothing clearly demonstrates who's the most astute manager He covers so much ground I thought there must have been two of them.
Bettsj2 Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 To think some actually posted on here that they'd prefer Dyche in charge of us over Pearson?

I have 3 options here. 1) Play dumb and say I do not understand the difference. 2) Continue to try and argue my point. 3) Hold my hands up and admit I only read the 2 lists of fee's spent and jumped the gun and got it horribly wrong. I'm going to take option 3 haha. In terms of fee's spent, you're spot on. We've definitely got better value for money overall. Jutkiewicz for nearly £3 million is mental business. Though I suppose he did need a striker and I don't know who else he could have attracted, he may as well have dipped into the loan market if he wanted to keep costs down and pad out his squad.

Babylon Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 simpson 2m! - I'd rather have boyd or any other Burnley player. I'd imagine most would, needs must at the time though unfortunately. The last few transfers at the end of the window clearly looked like panic buys as we had missed out on players.

Which of those were signed by Dyche too? It's a very valid point that the majority of his best players were Howe signings - which bodes very well for Bournemouth actually. The bloke can pick a player.
MC Prussian Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 Agreed. Hard to believe he is as bad as he is though. Simpson isn't bad - he just happened to feature for us during one of our worst winless spells ever. Almost all players looked bad back then. De Laet has upped his ante ever since and I'm sure Simpson can and will follow suit if required, as well.
Richard Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 Jutkiewicz £1.5m according to BBC, £2.75m according to Transfermarkt. could be rising to 2.75, but there's no way he's met any criteria. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28309685 Still, you could've bought Vardy and Mahrez and still got change for that price
AKCJ Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 Dyche is a berk and that is the long and short of it. Imagine having the audacity to spend 5m on Jutkiewicz and Boyd and to then complain about other teams' expenditure
Carl the Llama Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 It baffles me how the rest of the world's view of both Dyche & Pearson is in such stark contrast to the popular opinion on this board because there's no way Dyche isn't a massive cvnt and Pearson isn't an absolutely loveable fellow.
