sylofox Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Nick Powell's looking well like fitting in that category too. There's clearly something missing with him and I'm not sure it's ability. If Mainz want £15mil for Okazaki then consider that one binned. We'd be utter mugs to pay that for a 29 year old forward who, whilst clearly decent, isn't what you'd consider a top forward. Definitely think we'll be in for a forward though. Were we not offering about £8mil (around that) for him in January? This was after we'd bought Kramaric too. Thats about it was also told they did not have time to replace him so would not sell. But seems like the deal may have been done for a summer move if we stayed up.
J.Lisemore Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 We would be stupid to pay 15m euro's for a 29 year old striker. Surely no way we'll pay that.
gurru991 Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Hardly a reason to not go for a player.... i mean.. cambiasso didnt have any prem experience... 15 mill... thats just laying down the gauntlet... Thats True but Cambiasso was free. Even at 10 or 12 mil its just over the top for an unproven & aging forward. I think there is better value around than that
Dan Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Powell is the laziest footballer going. He basically lives the life of a student whilst being a professional footballer. Compare him to someone like Raheem Sterling who has an incredible work rate and they are polars apart. He could be as good as he wants to be, he just has to put some ****ing effort in. United have well and truly given up on him under LVG. Always a danger when you pay someone of his age a lot of money. Cannot imagine he's on under £10k a week despite coming from Crewe.
Guest Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Yoann Gourcuff is a free transfer this summer, I think. Had lots of injury problems, but while we're giving unrealistic targets I thought he was worth a mention. 28 years of age, previously transferred for big money. 22m euros - he would be a magician in the Prem.
Munshi Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Id hate to see Kasper leave to someone like Arsenal and then have to sit on the bench, stay here we've got top 3 next season.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Whoever goes will go and whoever stays will stay. I can't lose that argument.
sylofox Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Whoever goes will go and whoever stays will stay. I can't lose that argument. First one ever lol
BosomBouncer Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 22m euros - he would be a magician in the Prem. Get him fit, then he'd be amazing. He'd probably need to take a wage-cut though...
Callabinho Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 An early bid for Vietto would do nicely, I think he would leave for a decent amount.
Callabinho Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 I think we will more than likely lose Kasper in the summer. However dip into Germany and find a gem.
RizLCFC Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 An early bid for Vietto would do nicely, I think he would leave for a decent amount. Have a feeling he will sign for one of the Madrid clubs this summer.
Stevosevic Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 It's on "@TeleFootball: Leicester to bid £8m for Mainz forward Shinji Okazaki - @John__Percy reports http://t.co/s1LusGJ9tchttp://t.co/YKR5ObD8XS"

Imagine if we had spent 24 million on a left back and cb.

They did not have time to replace him then so 8m was agreed for a summer deal.
Sydney Fox Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Don't really understand the Okazaki link. Thought that would have died after we got Kram. 8 mil is a fair chunk to spend on an area we have well covered, for a player that's not any better than what we currently have. Happy to be proven wrong of course.

Guest bss9401 Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Dear Arsenal, **** off. Cheers Dear Arsenal, Beat Sunderland, Give us £15m for Schmeichel, Then **** off, Cheers
cityfanlee23 Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 I think I'd cry if we signed gourcuff, what an underrated player even at his ability, and to be honest, not a million miles away... He's on about 80k, offer 60k 2 year deal, we wouldn't struggle to offload if we went down next season... And he's top top draw. We should be aiming for mid table next time around once kramaric beds in and we strengthen (although safety will do me again) Who says with cambiasso here, and maybe another couple of decent signings we won't become a more attractive prospect? Probably shooting a bit too high but somehow I could see it provided we strengthen well and finish the last 2 games strong and top of the form table... 9 wins in 10 at the end of the season and seemingly "clicked" Lots of money to spend and ambitious owners.... Stranger things have happened.
4everfox Posted 14 May 2015 Posted 14 May 2015 Dear Arsenal, Beat Sunderland, Give us £15m for Schmeichel, Then **** off, Cheers I concur.
Sydney Fox Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 Him and Ulloa to fight for one place and cover for it. I'd take Ulloa though. That would be about 16 mil on 2 players to fight for one position. I'd understand if he was a young guy starting to come through but he's 29. I don't know, it just makes little sense to me. On a separate note, is this Gourcuff talk because we've been linked somewhere or just because we'd want him?
AyewJoking Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 Whoever goes will go and whoever stays will stay. I can't lose that argument. unless its a loan deal
MikeyT Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 We're listed on here with a few things. Nothing that we don't really know already though. http://talksport.com/football/transfer-rumours-and-paper-review-friday-may-15-150515146808
