Prior to his latest ban being announced, Cellino told BBC Radio Leeds: "We have a good team. I like his (Evans) passion, fight and he is determined."

Evans added: "I'm humbled and honored to manage this giant of a club.

"Someone has got to get it right here. Why not me? I have won a lot of football matches. "If I fail I become a statistic but I will put my life into the Leeds job. I will move into the city and the fans will see me."

They won't be able to miss him the fat b@stard!!   lol

How on earth can a club with so much potential be so badly run for the last 13 or so years?

You'd think a fans consortium would sort them out, surely they've got a number of rich fans who could take them forward and make Cellino a decent offer so he can politely go away...

Cellino, like Oyston, is a troll of football.

Ban him from football altogether; doesn't seem to learn from his past mistakes.

Had Chris Wood converted at least one of two of his easy-looking chances in the last game, Rosler probably wouldn't have been dismissed.

It's embarrassing for the whole of football in general to have such a clown owning a club....

The authorities should be totally ashamed of themselves for allowing him to ever own Leeds in the first place. It's an absolute disgrace. It just makes a complete mockery of the sport. Only a ****ing idiot would've not seen it going this way.

I actually think that's part of the problem. Clubs need to focus on the here and now. They've had great pasts (Leeds pretty recently in the Champions League) but they aren't that team anymore. It should be a focus on getting the club to a new level rather than just restoring it to a natural level.

Cellino just seems like a ridiculous owner who's either picking the wrong man each time and acting quickly or sacking people after a couple of poor results because he expects the earth in 4 weeks. I think he actually had a decent coach in Redfearn but binned him, that could well be the biggest mistake.

How in 'gods name' do you know he wouldn't go near that club at any price? Has he told you this himself?

No. But you haven't answered my question.

I seem to remember that all of the club's fixed assets - for example, the Elland Road ground and the training facilities - were either sold or mortgaged up to the hilt. So it would take a massive amount of money to buy what is, when you come down to it, just a name.

I loathed Leeds in the 1970s, and their fans were a disgrace when they came to Filbert Street in the late 1990s. Even so, this kind of thing should never happen to a football club. What a succession of absolute wankers: Ridsdale, Bates, Cellino... God forbid it should happen to us.

No. But you haven't answered my question.

Your question: Why in gods name am I surprised Leeds were not in for Pearson?

My answer: They need a proven, quality Manager, with a track record of getting a club promoted out of the championship into the PL. Leeds are a huge club who need a strong, confident man who can handle the expectations of the fans and the owner. Ideally a man who is out of work so they don't have to pay compensation. Maybe someone who's even lived and played in Yorkshire and understands the culture. Maybe even someone who's even worked with Chris Wood before and can get him scoring goals. A Manager who's got a point to prove and is keen, motivated and up for a challenge. I dunno, maybe someone like Nigel Pearson for example. That's why I'm surprised Leeds were not in for him.

There is one and funds have been raised for a substantial investment but you need a willing seller.  At the moment there is only enough to buy the 25% share owned by GFH and they aren't for selling.

All previous potential sugar daddy Leeds fans have been scared away by the maze of debt and disaster left by Bates.  I understand the thick end of that has been dealt with so if MC ever decides he's done his worst with us, we may see a slightly different landscape.

The poster above is right though.  It needs a big, big investment in Leeds to get it ship shape and commpetitive.  One of the greatest problems for any prosepctive owner is that the fanbase has been shredded by Bates and as cliched as it sounds, there's a lost generation.  Turned off Leeds and on to the top 5 from the PL.  That's what happens when you create a poor matchday experience with sky high prices and bugger all concessions for families.  The damage that man did is very, very difficult to put into words.

That's the crazy thing.  Cellino looks somehow more appealing when cast under the same lamp's light.

My word when you look at how some other clubs are run it really does make you appreciate what we have at Leicester. I think someone needs to explain the proper concept of 'manager of the month' to the Leeds owner as I don't think he really gets it. Still it's only 3 Leeds managers until Christmas :P

Makes me believe Karma may exist after all - but then I see Chelsea.

Why?

Because I remember the years when Leeds supporters were no better than pigs.

Aye, there were some right pillocks.  There still are.  There still are with every club.  Maybe Leeds have a few more than some but only by small degrees if at all.  How do we possibly even meaure it?

Also, like every club, we are supported by a majority of normal people from all walks of life.  Most of them are very decent people like is the case in any cross-section of society.  Some of the biggest hearted people I know are Leeds fans.

Listen, I get the desire to want to let the few tar the many but we don't accept this in any other area of life.  It's just odd how we do in football.  Tribalism over rationality really.  I'm not sure why tens of thousands of good and decent Leeds fans deserve the "Karma" that a few hundred imeciles inflicted?

So sat at home, and my girlfriend casually asks who has just signed on at Leeds? I said Steve Evans haha, why? She said what's up with him? Why is it funny? I said because 'big club' Leeds have resorted to Steve Evans, joke of a club, etc etc. ohh I know his daughters she said. Still don't change my opinion love.

There is a former Leicester player doing very well at this management game. Gary Rowett is now second in the table- second bottom a year ago when he took over.

Said on BBC West Mids, that he's managed them for 44 games and they got over 70 points. Playoff form with small squad with little quality. Shows what a competent manager can do with his man management.

Some people were actually suggesting Neil Lennon for the Leicester job lol
