Lesteban Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Claims on twitter (from a German football journo) that Leicester are soon to announce the signing of Christian Fuchs on a free from Schalke. Champions league experience, Austrian international left back who was released recently. Thoughts?
Narborough_fox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 According to Der Standard (Austrian newspaper) he's pretty much signed for Swansea. Bloke who's tweeted it seems very sketchy as well, only 360 followers.
Lesteban Posted 3 June 2015 Author Posted 3 June 2015 All good points. Although number of followers doesn't always mean legit sources. He would seem to fit the bill, a set piece specialist too which would be a nice addition. Although I'd hope we would still start Jeff over any left back we sign if he is fit. Experienced but not to old.
Lesteban Posted 3 June 2015 Author Posted 3 June 2015 The same journo seems to have been behind Konoplyanka to Stoke, and that seems to be happening. Stringer is already onto him trying to get him on BBC Radio Leicester later to talk about Fuchs, so maybe their is some truth to this.

God they are desperate.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Hmmm I'm not so sure this is a goer. Hope I'm wrong though! *someone has made the point that he hasn't been linked with Swansea for a few weeks and they're now going after Tambou (or dorm thing...) and Garbutt from Everton. So who knows... Would be a great signing tho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Steven Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Didn't Neil Taylor just just sign a 4 year deal for Swansea?
MC Prussian Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Hmmm German newspaper reporting he's off Swansea. Which one's that? The Austrian "Standard" merely reports that he's close to signing for Swansea, but there's no confirmation as of yet.
Narborough_fox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Didn't Neil Taylor just just sign a 4 year deal for Swansea? Yeah, he did but they don't have a back-up Left Back after they sold Davies to Spurs and they were playing Jordi Amat there when Taylor was injured. Would assume they were looking at Fuchs as a second choice to Taylor.
Jon the Hat Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Does this really deserve it own thread? Fuchs Yeah!
CosbehFox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Which one's that? The Austrian "Standard" merely reports that he's close to signing for Swansea, but there's no confirmation as of yet. My mistake assumed the Standard was German rather than Austrian.
Callabinho Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Rob tanner has just said we look like signing him. Very good business.
Foxymcoxy Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Rob tanner has just said we look like signing him. Very good business. Nice, this is starting to look like it is on the cards. Would be perfect imo.
Vicki Vixen Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 From my Schalke supporting mate: "Sounds likely; Schalke hasn’t prolonged his contract. He is too old and slow for my liking, but if you get him for free, why not. His biggest strength are throw-ins that are like corners."
Babylon Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Rob tanner has just said we look like signing him. Very good business. He just repeated what the other bloke stated, he said it was according to reports in Germany. He's adding nothing to what we already knew.

He isn't the quickest but he'd leave Konchesky for dead so I'm not going to be too fussy.

Wow, what has the world come to when you consider 29-year old footballers "too old"?

I really hope Pearson has learnt not to play slow full backs at wing back, after the Simpson and Konchesky horror show how could he not?
