Dan Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 How does anyone know if he's bad in the air? Vardy or Chris Wood in an aerial battle? I'd fancy Vardy 90% of the time yet if you're just looking at height alone you'd be going for Wood every time. 5'9 is small for a centre half but height is unbelievably overplayed in the English game.
Nick Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Whilst height should help it doesn't explain why Cambiasso wins every ariel ball against players a foot taller than him. It's actually quite astonishing.
Fox92 Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Would defintely take Chester. Knew he'd get linked though. Nige took him to Hull and went back for him when he come back here.
weller54 Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Are they really clean balls? As clean as Hooper's when licked clean!
Alf Bentley Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 not to mention the problems that this will probably cause with Liam Moore feeling like he is being ostracized. He should feel relieved that he's not been ostrichized.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 I'd be happy with Chester, though just as a back - up. A squad player, so to speak. I think he's only going to get better and seems a decent lad. No problem for me if we signed him.

Is it? Name 3 centre backs under 6ft that start week in week out in the prem?
FoxinNotts Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Is it? Name 3 centre backs under 6ft that start week in week out in the prem? Eh.....can't. Fair point. He is definitely the smaller end of the scale for centre backs, that doesn't make him sh*t. I think we could all name say 10 'prem defenders' that are below Chester on the want list. He's good in a back 3 IMO
David Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 for 3 at the back we need at least 1 footballing CB. Right now none of the 3 starting cbs are.

We should sign Caulker, he's tall and has pace which is all you need apparently.

Danno Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Good job we know you are joking. It is isn't it. Next person to suggest this seriously deserves a public flogging at half time during the Sunderland game.
MPH Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 I'm sure i remember reading somewhere that Chester was being looked at as an alternative to Huth.... Kind of hoped we were going for both.... maybe we are!

Looks like he's off to Bournemouth. Shame really, would have been a great addition... Guess we will have to settle for Huth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AKCJ Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 It is isn't it. Next person to suggest this seriously deserves a public flogging at half time during the Sunderland game. Trouble with Caulker is that he's in the same position as Moore ability wise but he's been so hyped up that he wouldn't settle for Championship football. I reckon a season in that league where he just dominates would sort him out. I think he's better than he's showing. He's certainly not worth the 8m or whatever QPR paid and Cardiff paid for him. I'd take him for south of 3m.
Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Is it? Name 3 centre backs under 6ft that start week in week out in the prem? I'm not bothered how tall he is though. Can he defend? Can he win aerial battles? Height is just a starting point. He might have an unbelievable leap for all we know. If he can be a good defender for us I'm not bothered how tall he is.
Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 We should sign Caulker, he's tall and has pace which is all you need apparently. you'll get someone actually suggest it as well. I'd take Chester over him any day.
