Robin JD Popley Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Said it a few weeks ago but welcome him here with open arms: would be a great addition.
Stevosevic Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 £8m for this bag of shit? Christ I hope this doesnt happen. Wanted by teams that finished above us last season, but too shit for mighty Leicester...
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 BBC are reporting him to WBA as pretty much done and dusted.
Fox Ulike Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 I'm saying a Championship club charging £8m for a player with less than 12 months left on their deal is a bit steep. I think he's a decent player. Just marvelling at the state of the market. OK but that's because you're not considering all the variables. If 6 Prem clubs are interested in him then that's going to push his value up. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/593950/Hull-City-James-Chester-Premier-League Plus it's ludicrous to describe him as a Championship player when he hasn't played there for two years. Plus he's first choice for Wales who are now the 10th best international team in the World. £10m is pretty standard for what top quality Prem players cost. Hull don't have to sell him. I think you just got used to Pearson signing players for peanuts and turning them into £10m players. Them days are over sadly. £8m for this bag of shit? Christ I hope this doesnt happen. Insightful.
lgfualol Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Is he going to be back-up? Or to upgrade one of the 3 who played in the last 10 games? If he is to 'upgrade' - then who? Wes, Was?? For me, he doesn't......... We need CM's! Well we need 4 decent CBs if we're doing 3 at the back, and Moore isn't good enough at present. I reckon Chester would replace Wasyl.

Sorry let me elaborate further. £8m for this fvcking bag of shit? Christ I hope this doesn't happen.
benpicko Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Imagine if we get James Chester and Charles Aranguiz now after all the hysteria of the past few weeks
benpicko Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Well we need 4 decent CBs if we're doing 3 at the back, and Moore isn't good enough at present. I reckon Chester would replace Wasyl. Yeah 4 decent CBs, and Moore, and De Laet who showed that he could play on the right side of the back 3 at the end of last year.
NewburyFox Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 £8m is a lot but he's a good player and still only 26, plus I'm sure he's more comfortable with the ball at his feet than our other CBs. I'd definitely take him.

For me, he doesn't......... We need CM's! He's battle with Was and be his long term replacement. Similar stats, but much better ball player out of the back.
SlaneyLCFC Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 He'll choose WBA won't he BBC Says so but it was last updated at 1314 hrs. Yorkshire post was published no less then an hour later. Maybe something in it?
Gerard Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Imagine if we get James Chester and Charles Aranguiz now after all the hysteria of the past few weeks I don't think we'll be dancing in the streets because of James Chester. Aranguiz on the other hand...............

For me, he doesn't......... We need CM's! Was is 34 now. He can't go on forever his elbows must be worn out... Morgan ain't no spring chicken either. If we want to build for the next 3 or 4 years then this is just the sort of player we want.
benpicko Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 I don't think we'll be dancing in the streets because of James Chester. Aranguiz on the other hand............... I just mean that we'd have made two signings in positions which desperately needed them, Chester to provide more options in an already decent back three, Aranguiz to provide quality in a pretty awful midfield (other than King and James)
kingfox Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Bloody hell we must be desperate, £8 million is laughable.
Bettsj2 Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Bloody hell we must be desperate, £8 million is laughable. This.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Bloody hell we must be desperate, £8 million is laughable. But its not mine or your 8 million though is it. Its someone elses. Will he improve the team regardless? Yes he will. So whats the point in moaning about money that someone else is spending?
Suffolk exile Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 I feel even more depressed by this than I did when I heard EC wasn't going to re-sign..........
SlaneyLCFC Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 If he is a genuine improvement and can be an asset in the team then surely £8-10M will be nothing if we stay in the premier league for another season.
filbertstreet Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 I don't think we'll be dancing in the streets because of James Chester. Aranguiz on the other hand............... gone to bayer 04 aint he
