safehands Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 You lot didn't lose Pearson cause of footballing reasons and I don't think any win percentage or finishing position would have prevented his sacking. He's obviously the confrontational sort, from what I've seen in many of his famous press interviews. I can't imagine that demeanor alters much behind closed doors with the board. He's probably stuck up for his son and the other two lads, god forbid, and got in a row, subsequently losing his job.
Viva Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 When did I say we was a shit team? I said we had some shit games and should have done better in them.
filbertway Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Yet 5-3 vs Man U, 1-1 vs Arsenal, 2-0 vs Southampton and 5-1 vs QPR were great. It balances out, you can pick out the results all you want, we also had some fantastic performances, and ended up 14th, a fantastic return in the first season back. I'm tired of people on both sides making it out it was Pearson or the board's fault- we don't know, we probably won't so we have to hope we get a good manager. Yesss! All of this.

BigMicky Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 When did I say we was a shit team? I said we had some shit games and should have done better in them. Based on what? We had no divine right to beat/ play well against anyone, your just deluded.
kingfox Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 He is getting reinstated. My friend just saw him in Morrisons & on this occasion I'm not actually bullshitting.

Carl the Llama Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Don't follow? Never claimed to be either (especially a mackem!!) The mackems seem to be a bit obsessed with us and someone with the name "Leicester fan" (or similar) keeps posting stuff on their board to rile them up. Common consensus is it's a Geordie with too much spare time since nobody on here's the slightest bit interested in S'land beyond matchdays/checking the results of relegation rivals.

Carl the Llama Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 I so wish you wasn't. Would it be too painful if he preferred Aldi?

Oh, well nope certainly wasn't me! I genuinely respect Leicester and think they did great last season and the season before that in the Championship. I also am very much against the Pearson sacking and don't think it was warranted at all, but as I was warmly reminded above, nobody asked
Viva Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Based on what? We had no divine right to beat/ play well against anyone, your just deluded. Deluded for thinking we should have played better against some of the teams around us? Come on Big Boy, take your Pearson blinkers off! We don't have a divine right to beat anyone, but as we was a club trying to stay in the league, they are the matches you need to perform better in. Do you go into a season expecting to lose every game and anything else is a bonus so long as we don't get thrashed?
Frank to be Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 At least it would be had to any evidence your first three points were correct. Pearson walked. He said so himself. Certainly want sacked like the other poster said. Mandaric was owner for Sousa and chairman for Sven. It was Mandaric doing all the interviews, waking lyrical about the supposedly great appointments he had made.

It's unanimously upsetting that we've lost our best manager since MON, but there's a dearth of information about the circumstances surrounding the sacking which makes it impossible to come to any conclusion either way. From a footballing perspective there's no way he should have lost his job, unfortunately it would appear there's more to it than that.

You don't know who was pulling what strings. .

Mandaric was owner for Sousa and chairman for Sven - fact. Mandaric did all the interviews - fact. Make your own mind up of course but it seems conclusive to me.

I went into last season hoping to be competitive, which we were. Why should we be beating Palace/ WBA? They were better than us.

Why should we be beating Palace/ WBA? They were better than us. A team coasting to an easy 1-0 or 2-0 victory isn't competitive in my eyes.. Might be in yours. A few examples.. Stoke at home.. Swansea away.. Literally in cruise control.
EnglishOxide Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 If we had beaten all the teams Viva suggested as well as the results we already got we would have been in Europe you flipping nutcases.

Why should we be beating Palace/ WBA? They were better than us. Blinkers as in so focused on Pearson and the great last 9 games we had, that you forget about a lot of the drab affairs we had before that. Not too hard to understand what that meant. Why should we not be winning some of the matches against Burnley, West Brom, Sunderland, Stoke, Palace and Hull like I said? We would have been favourites with the bookies to win all of those. I'm not saying we should have won them all by any stretch. Just play a bit better in some of them and get the odd win. All my main point is that it wasn't all rosy last season and for over three quarters of it, Sean Dyche was getting more out of his Burnley team than Pearson was here. Yes he turned it around and we had a superb end to the season. I didn't want him sacked, but he was. He was not a Mesiah and irreplaceable though, so hopefully the next man will do a good job too.
Viva Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 If we had beaten all the teams Viva suggested as well as the results we already got we would have been in Europe you flipping nutcases. Calm down, calm down! When did I say we should win all those matches? Read again Oxide
