justfoxes Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Just read this article from non other than a paper to line your rabbits cage with if you can't get a copy of the sun, star, mirror or any other fooling crap newspaper !! I quite like the bit where we as Leicester fans are all going to be in fighting on social media etc etc and how fickle we as football fans are !! http://metro.co.uk/2015/07/01/was-the-thai-sex-scandal-the-reason-leicester-city-really-sacked-nigel-pearson-5274139/
stox259 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 This is half the problem with the 'sack race'. Sacking a manager is what gets football club owners the most press in the wider media. And some owners love it when they are mentioned in every paper and on every website around the globe. I'm not saying our owners crave media attention but certainly Milan Manderic for example loved it when he sacked a manager and was in the paper all the time. You never heard from him when things were going well.
Aus Fox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Biggest load of crap I have read on the whole situation, how some people make careers for themselves is beyond me at times.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Written by a Leicester fan that also runs one of the terrible Facebook pages.
gerrytaggart Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 The thais lumped a serious amount of cash on Pearson being the first managerial casualty???
Guest MattP Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Most Journo's are utter filth and they are so far up the arse of any big name they are now instrumental in deciding the futures of managers. Had Mourinho come to a press conference after a game, called a journo an Ostrich and accused him of having his head in the sand, they would have all sat there giggling like schoolgirls like they do at virtually every one of his press conferences. Van Gaal can come out and show the most absurd distain and rudeness to a reporter and they'll head back to Gary Neville who will tell us that's he is upset, correct to be so and that we should all 'understand it'. Pearson doesn't get that privledge as they don't like him, he's morose, boring and won't provide them with a headline that will sell a story or get them the retweets they so desperately seek. The only one's worth reading are Patrick Barclay, Matthew Syed, Henry Winter, Matt Dickinson and Alan Smith, the vast majority of the others belong in David Beckham's bin searching through shit in the hope they can deliver a runt headline for whatever rag employs them.

I said as much at the time, absolute double standards.
AKCJ Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Read the BBC's 'article' on it if you really fancy a shock. All it is is Patt Murphy's totally worthless opinion. yeah, thats the bloke who tried (and failed miserably) to get under Nigel's skin after ostrichgate.
HitchinFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 The writer of that isn't a journalist - far from it. With English like that, he wouldn't last a day.
ozleicester Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 "According to reports, Pearson was told of his dismissal in a telephone conversation and was not aware that he was on the brink of being dismissed, let alone sacked."
BoneDog Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Substitute "do you want a pickled onion" with the thread title and there's your answer!
The Doctor Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Unfortunately he's broadly right - a lot of them are out for themselves and will do whatever they can to get more attention, thinking that will move them up, even if it torches the connection that made them an asset - look no further than stringer to see that. He looked to break the pearson sacked story by almost instigating it at times, and well he lost everything in terms of access to the club.
Thracian Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Journalists out for themselves .... what a rare breed!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Truth and fiction, intermingled. Pearson did make a total fool of himself, to be honest, and put his head on the chopping board. He probably got his just desserts.
chicagofox Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 I saw one headline yesterday saying something to the tune of, "Leicester in race against time to get new manager". It's barely July.
BoneDog Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Just to clarify, I don't hate all journalists like MrRandomSilly and Thracian of course. Just the ones who help cause or cover up mischief, mayhem, murder and whatnot with lies and other dirty tricks. Scum of the earth.
