stripeyfox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 If you're in a club and you think the supermodel looking girl has looked at you a couple of times but you're not sure she has? It's better to approach her and get the knock back than lie in your bed that night and wonder what might have been if only you's plucked up the courage. Are you Ian Holloway??
MC Prussian Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Imagine Klopp being appointed as Leicester City FC manager - given his previous touchline antics, how long will the Pearson Out Brigade be patient with him you imagine? Klopp takes Pashun to a whole new level. He reminds me of Pearson a lot: Meticulous in his approach, but a bit more suave in his appearance and presentation.
Gerard Posted 6 July 2015 Author Posted 6 July 2015 Is it school holidays already? Klopp is not coming dick heads, why waste your time chasing him? It's like pitching up to buy a new Porsche with a knackered Austin Maestro and £1500, then being surprised when the bloke at the dealership tells you for fcuk off! What's the worst than can happen? He says no but if the media report it, it at least represents ambition in the club saying we want to be one of the best. There hasn't been anyone on this thread who think he's likely to come but most accept it's not likely but has minimal chance. It's not like offering £12m to Barcelona for Messi as that would be totally embarrassing, this isn't. He has already said he wants to manage in England and it doesn't have to be top four. So what does he mean by that? Is it just Liverpool and Tottenham or is that list a bit longer? We're not a million miles from anyone outside the top six so if he could be persuaded to go to a club like Everton then he could also be persuaded to come to a club like us. He can only say no and I would be extremely pissed off if we didn't chance our arm taking into accounts his recent comments which indicate there is a possibility.

Agree, although maybe I'm reading too much into his reported words If he wants a 'project' that involves more than getting Liverpool/Spurs into top 4 then we're as good a bet as anyone. I can't help thinking he's just trying to exclude ManCity though, leaving the door open for Liverpool/Spurs But if we don't ask, sell our 'vision' to him then we have 0% chance, rather than 0.01% chance we might currently have.
Kitchandro Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 It's all very well saying Klopp would never come to us but the Thais have made the decision to sack Pearson at this time, I'm afraid we're going to be expecting a bit better than some of the Championship/League One/washed up managers we are being linked with. So yeh, people are likely to be disappointed but that's what happens when you sack a manager without a decent replacement lined up. We won't get Klopp, so whoever takes over is not going to be immediately popular. That's the decision the owners have made, and they can't expect the fans to be understanding if we get off to a bad start, regardless of how unlikely it is that we would have got our preferred choice.
Nick Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Klopp could stand on the touch line in his pants drinking a bottle of Scotch for all I care. It'd be just like the Craig Levein days, only with results.
Frost Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Absolutely no chance. Ridiculous to see his name mentioned so many times.
SpacedX Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 What's the worst than can happen? The owners reinstate Nigel Pearson again?
Nick Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Absolutely no chance. Ridiculous to see his name mentioned so many times. To be fair this is a Klopp titled thread.
Frost Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 To be fair this is a Klopp titled thread. I meant realistically.
Finnaldo Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Funny thing is people were writing off Cambiasso in just the same way. It's unlikely, but unless you're Klopp's agent we have no idea what move he'd settle for and until we appoint a new manager or rejects us, chances are we won't know.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Vichai is just about mad enough to try, I'll give him that. Then sack him next year after we finish 6th and go for Pep!
les-tah Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Its unusual that there are no reports that we have officially approached anyone yet. Maybe there holding out for a biggun like kloppy. ..just maybe.
RonnieTodger Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 This is the same bloke that's supposedly above the Liverpool job right?
paulsherwood1 Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Vichai is just about mad enough to try, I'll give him that. Then sack him next year after we finish 6th and go for Pep! exactly! . Seriously though, they surely will ask the question? No harm in asking. Our recent transfer activity suggests that we are upping our game in terms of player acquisition. Maybe people need to realise we are doing the same with our manager. My understanding is Lennon/ cotteril etc have absolutely no chance of being the main man. Maybe under hiddink or MON but not the main man. I think our club is safe in the hands of our owners!
MC Prussian Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Its unusual that there are no reports that we have officially approached anyone yet. Maybe there holding out for a biggun like kloppy. ..just maybe. It's "Kloppo". Ahem.
thybluefox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I just want to know we've asked. He'll say no, of course, but lets at least have a pop.
Finnegan Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 This is the same bloke that's supposedly above the Liverpool job right? Certainly not above, no. As much as it pains me to say it, I actually think he'll be the next Liverpool manager.
Wymsey Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 He wouldn't want someone like Sean O'Driscoll as his assistant, though...
Carl the Llama Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 How long til Wenger retires? Klopp would fit right in there, could come poke around at the PL with us while he's waiting.
berniethebolt Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Klopps is currently in London..... nice and local if the owners want to ask. https://twitter.com/hashtag/klopp?vertical=default&f=tweets
ARM1968 Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Klopp needs PL training wheels. We'd be perfect for a season or two. Our wheels always come off at some point and he could then glide serenely into Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs or wherever.
