Carlos88LCFC Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 It's not very likely at all, everyone knows that. There are 50/60 teams ahead of us in the list he'd probably favour joining.... BUT... it really depends on what the owners plans are and how ambitious they are. If they really want Europe and are prepared to fund that, then money can make the impossible, possible. He wants to join a Premiership team, so there are a maximum of ONLY 19 teams ahead of us. He doesn't want to join a top 4 club (I believe)... So that crosses off Aresnal, United, Chelsea & Man City. Bournemouth, Watford, Norwich, no. West Ham just signed a new Manager, as have Newcastle... Liverpool seem to be sticking with Brendan, Can't see Monk, Hughes, Koeman, Pochettino, Pulis, Martinez and a few more being replaced.. The leaves the list quite short if he is looking to join a Premiership team.
Ricey Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Yesterdays article was interesting timing, but do people really believe that it was a come-and-get-me plea to our owners? If he wanted the Leicester job he'd contact the club and get it. I think yesterdays comments were more a hint to bigger PL clubs that if they are considering making a change early in the season, he is a phone call away. Having said that, our owners would be idiotic to not even give it a shot.

He actually said he wouldn't be against joining a club outside of the top four, not that he doesn't want to manage a club in the top four. If he bides his time, he could have any club in this league he wanted. Silly season will start again soon, and if chairmen know that Klopp is out there as a free agent, there will be a long queue of teams after him. Why would he just pick the only available job now?
Babylon Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 He wants to join a Premiership team, If the options were, I don't know Leicester and AC Milan... do we REALLY think he'd choose us instead. He could take six months off, learn another language and open up a whole new league he could join if he wanted.
les-tah Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 We will have 100% approached Klopps agent. there is 98% chance hed turn us down though.
Finnegan Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 He actually said "outside Europe's elite" to me that means Real, Barca, Bayern, etc. It struck me as implying he'd take the Liverpool job despite being linked to very rich.clubs like Real and City. Not coming here in a month of Sundays. If other prem clubs got wind Kloppo was considering Leicester, they'd all sack their gaffers.

We have great financial backing, he can already speak the language and our owners aspire to be owners of a football club playing in Europe. I don't think your giving the managerial role at Leicester enough credit. Yes I would be shocked if Klopp was appointed but I would also be shocked if Neil Lennon, Allardyce or Cotteril got the job as well. The caliber of Football manager we should be looking at is someone like Koeman or Pochettino... Klopp is a tough ask but I don't think it would be too out of reach as our owners could offer him a lot of money and a vision that would boost his reputation even further within the English League.

RoboFox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 A mate of mine works at Parkway Volkswagen on St. Margaret's way. Apparently someone with a German accent called up this morning, asking for a quote on how much it would be to have a "Sunflower Yellow" Beetle resprayed in "Reef Blue" #ITK

What I'm doing is also giving credit to all the other potential jobs out there vastly more tempting than Leicester city.

thybluefox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I'd be pretty disappointed if we haven't/don't approach him. But I'm pretty sure I know what the answer would be if we did.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Is it school holidays already? Klopp is not coming dick heads, why waste your time chasing him? It's like pitching up to buy a new Porsche with a knackered Austin Maestro and £1500, then being surprised when the bloke at the dealership tells you for fcuk off!
Carlos88LCFC Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 It's like pitching up to buy a new Porsche with a knackered Austin Maestro and £1500, then being surprised when the bloke at the dealership tells you for fcuk off! Hardly.
les-tah Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 if we can afford to pay 12 million for Charlie Austin who we don't majorly need, we could pay 12 million to Klopp as part of a contract. The Solution Pay Klopp 12 million instead of pursuing Austin.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 As I said before, surely worth a conversation with the guy to explain the project even he politely says no, which we likely would.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 We will have 100% approached Klopps agent. there is 98% chance hed turn us down though. More like 99.9 % chance he said no
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 As I said before, surely worth a conversation with the guy to explain the project even he politely says no, which we likely would. But why? There is no point. His stock is high currently and he is not going to risk coming here and fcuking that up when he can hang fire and pick up a proper job as soon as someone is dumped mid season. Look at Villas-Boas and how is reputation here is now fcuked cus he made the wrong move.

Exactly why Jurgen doesn't want to go to a team of that caliber I believe.
Gerard Posted 6 July 2015 Author Posted 6 July 2015 The owners will approach and he'll just say no If you're in a club and you think the supermodel looking girl has looked at you a couple of times but you're not sure she has? It's better to approach her and get the knock back than lie in your bed that night and wonder what might have been if only you's plucked up the courage.
indierich06 Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Villas Boas joined Chelsea and failed because the expectation was too high. Exactly why Jurgen doesn't want to go to a team of that caliber I believe. He hasn't said he doesn't want to go to a team of that calibre, just that he's open to managing sides outside of the elite. Doesn't mean he wouldn't consider the chance to manage a top Premier League side.

I think you must have either your head in the clouds, or been away on holiday, or reporting on a different team, because if you don’t know the answer to that question . . your question is absolutely unbelievable, the fact you do not understand where I am coming from. If you don’t know the answer to that question then I think you are an ostrich. Your head must be in the sand. Is your head in the sand? Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand? My suspicion would be no.

Aim low an succeed, far better getting hosed by some rotter than going home pissed and trying to have a wank.
