Grand Seiko is an amazing watch. Very classy. I'd be worried about it getting damaged or stolen. Servicing cost must be eye watering :o

Thanks, luckily watch thief’s wouldn’t know what a grand seiko is if it slapped them in the face, so I’m good 🤣it’s the cherry blossom one and the details are incredible in different lights. I’m dreading servicing it tbh il worry about that in a few years!

Bought a San Martin off AliExpress last year as a beater. 9015 Miyota mechanism, I'm having a very difficult time regulating it to keep it losing minutes a day. It was -/+30 seconds a day before I tried to tinker it myself, but after multiple goes it's running 4 or so minutes a day fast, can't get a grip of it.

Point of it was a nice cheap mech I could bash about and don't fancy paying loads to get it sorted. Nice looking thing though - SN0150

I’m tempted by a Chinese tourbillon - you can get one for about £400 🤣 it is just a roll of the dice wether it would last for a few years

What makes a Grand Seiko worth up to £12'000? They don't look particularly nice or stylish, but rather brute for my liking.

How much?! Available new for half of that. Still a lot of money for a watch but it's for life and can be passed down. I think it looks elegant with a classic design. Proper dress watch.
