straight past Virginia and into north Carolina.  they have been flying for about 8 hours so far! clocking the miles up!

this has miami written all over it now.

its currently done around 3239 nautical miles. so its still got over half its range in its tank.

Presumably there is a limit to how far they are allowed to go, keeping a certain amount of fuel for emergencies?

Instead of flying in a straight line, I think the flight paths for smaller planes from here to the US go via new-foundland and head down the coast so they're always fairly close to land.

I think most aircraft, regardless to size take that path so they hit the jetstreams that run over the north atlantic. Makes the planes more fuel efficient

From London you can reach almost anywhere in the world with this jet, with the exception of most of Australia (you could probably get to Perth or Darwin) and southern Argentina/Chile/Brazil.

you can scrub all of south america off it has flew the wrong way for that.

Planes tend to fuel up with sufficient for their destination + contingency, rather than carrying around unnecessary fuel which adds weight and in effect burns up more fuel!

would have reserve tanks for emergencies. if its range is 7500 nautical miles it can fly that without its emergency tanks that would have enough to get it a few extra miles to reach land or an airport.

over the sea however..****ed.

that would make sense as to why it is speeding up then. less fuel on board.

It's going to chile via the gulf of Mexico and across central America. It's talking the most fuel efficient route. Approaching from the Atlantic side would cause it to face 100kt headwinds.

Yeah, I was just making the point that this jet has really long range.

Agree - does look like Miami/Orlando now

Its scary how easy it is to follow someone like this....

If it is anything football related, do the owners acutally fly out for discussions? I'm sure they would send representatives. Maybe Ranieri wants to speak directly to a player? Anyone know if ranieri was at training today?
