Maggie's town fox Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Not going anywhere, he clearly loves it here and besides he would have to go to a lower team if staying in Prem as we are TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!!! there is only one price tag and that's PRICELESS, would not want a bidding war like the John Stones farce so a message to all those potentially interested out there. "BOG OFF"
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 He's just signed a new deal, he's going nowhere, yet
HankMarvin Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 He's just signed a new deal, he's going nowhere, yet Doesnt really mean anything these days if the right offer comes in
whoareyaaa Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Doesnt really mean anything these days if the right offer comes in He won't go even if a 40m offer comes in not this season.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Doesnt really mean anything these days if the right offer comes inIt does when it's only been a few weeks since he signed a contract he will stay for at least this season, and wil only be sold for massive money when he does go
HankMarvin Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 He won't go even if a 40m offer comes in not this season. Oh rights thanks for confirmation presume you work on the board
whoareyaaa Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Oh rights thanks for confirmation presume you work on the board well you wouldn't sign a contract and leave the club within 4 months.
Gerard Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I couldn't believe my ears when Stringer quoted £10m for him. Benalouane cost more than half that. I think Leicester wouldn't entertain anything less than £25m, Mahrez could be anything. He's still only 24 and now has added some end product to all his fancy play. 4 goals in 3 games and if he gets another dozen or so this season from right midfield we'll be talking £50m by the end of it. Leicester have no inclination to sell, four years on his contract and no matter how much we get for him we won't be able to improve our team. It would take a ridiculous offer before we sold. I suppose the only danger is if a really big club put a really big opffer in we can't keep him as he'd probably throw his rattle out the pram.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Oh rights thanks for confirmation presume you work on the board I can't think of any player being sold, a few weeks after signing a new contract But you seem to think otherwise
Tuna Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I think the real worry is the possible/probable release clause.
HankMarvin Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 well you wouldn't sign a contract and leave the club within 4 months. what about 6 Fabian Delph has committed his future to Villa after signing a new four-and-a-half year deal with the claret and blues. England midfielder Delph, who originally joined the club in 2009 from Leeds United, has extended his contract until June 2019.
HankMarvin Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 When he signed the deal he wasnt top scorer in the league and in blistering form, if a huge offer came in dont be fooled thinking his head would not be turned
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I think the real worry is the possible/probable release clause. There isn't one
Max Power Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 what about 6 Fabian Delph has committed his future to Villa after signing a new four-and-a-half year deal with the claret and blues. England midfielder Delph, who originally joined the club in 2009 from Leeds United, has extended his contract until June 2019. There was a release clause in Delph's new contract. No word of such a clause in Riyad's but we'll see
HankMarvin Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 There was a release clause in Delph's new contract. No word of such a clause in Riyad's but we'll see I hope not because when he plays like he has been he is basically irreplaceable for Leicester
Wymsey Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I think there's quite a bit difference between him and Albrighton, technically, and that's not being harsh on Albrighton as he's been great in many of our games. Just shows Mahrez is very likely to be suited to a top-7 side, which is us currently , with his trickery and his rather stunning shots.
Freesolo Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 He is Not for sale for any price i say. If he left it would be to a team playing Champions League football and wee are not big enough to replace him, no player of his standard would come to Leicester unless we offered him £400k wages or something silly which will ruin the clubso since we cant attract anyone near his caliber it makes perfect sense to hold on to him for at least a few years
Tuna Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 There isn't one Unless you've seen his contract you can't say that. It remains a possibility and I can only hope he does not have one and if it is its £40 million.
HankMarvin Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Championship sides are now paying/bidding 9+ million for players with little championship experience, Mahrez has proved on his day he can tear the top teams a new arsehole look how good he was against Arsenal last year, just needed to add consistency to his game , which so far he has. When you think Lamela went for 30million basically scored one good goal in a year
dylanlegend Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 anything less than £30mill would be a travesty but doubt anyone would pay that hence he'll stay (hopefully)
splinterdream Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I love Leicester and can't help but remember how gutted I was when we lost Heskey, one of Leicesters own which is why as much as I'd like to think Mahrez loves us and wants to stay for the long term, I think if they came sniffing he'd be interested, you couldn't blame him for dreaming about playing for one of the large clubs. I think he could be good enough for Real or Barcelona. If one of those clubs put in a bid, could we keep hold of him? He is worth at least what Sterling went for imo
Littletoe Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Everyone needs to chill out. Our owners will be very stubborn selling Mahrez, as they want us to succeed to the highest level and do not have to worry about the financial situations as lets say Southampton.
splinterdream Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 This Diego Maradona and Napoli statement by Ranieri is a statement to players like Mahrez in our team I believe. He's saying if you stay all the greats will come. Ranieri knows the vultures are circling.
