Mahrez signs new contact until 2019

You could get £15m right now IMO, after a great season i think his Value might treble?

That just doesn't happen to us though lol

Also it's crazy to think that if we sold him for say £40m we'd actually be disappointed as the money isn't quite so vital to the club.

The owners may see it a different way of course lol

He definitely has the potential to be our biggest ever profit on a player

Most player do two years at Prem level before a 'big' club come in for them. If you look at the raiding of Southampton then their stars had performed admirably for two seasons before Liverpool took a punt on Lambert, Lallana and Loveren (even then their success rate was mixed) not to mention United and Arsenal raiding them too.

Youngsters tend to get snapped up ever earlier so big clubs can school them in their preferred style.

If Mahrez were able to maintain his form then I would hope a big club would come sniffing in the summer. The only thing he has against him is his rather slight frame, squads in and around the top 4 tend to have players with bulkier frames and broader shoulders so that could restrict potential suitors. I would imagine a fee in and around £20m would be reasonable, if he continues as he is, as although he has internation experience he can't boast European experience and that tends to be a prerequisite for many established sides.

Would you not think it odd if a player scored and assisted consistantly without attracting serious interest from a number of suitors?

No because he'd be scoring and assisting consistently for us so they'd be no problem. Sorry I may be missing your point lol

I would guess that Arsenal would be the only club in England that would want/afford him and that he would likely leave Leicester for. Otherwise a top European club could tempt him away. Hopefully he can be here for the long term. We don't have to sell. He's playing. We have potential.

We've always known Mahrez is a bit special and is ridiculously skillful but in previous seasons he's struggled to consistently string together game changing performances.

So......... what's changed? He has looked unplayable in these first few games. Long may it continue!

Experience and the confidence with himself and because of good signings coming in

Carries on like this and £40 million would be the starting point. I'd want more.

The frightening thing is he can improve several areas of his game and be truly World Class.

He seems very grounded and respects what we have done to help him progress imo, I think he likes playing here and wont be going anywhere this season for sure.

Depending on our progression I think he may stick with us unless we get a stupid offer but if we want to be playing in Europe then you keep players like Marhez selling would be a backwards step.

I can honestly say if he went for around £20 mill, i'd be gutted. Worse players have gone for much more.

He's always been class but he's really stepped up his game and is developing into a top, top class player.
