Christoph Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 I remember my results day. Needed ABB to get into university but got in with a BBC. Good luck to those going uni. Hope you picked the right course for yourself.
zak_lcfc Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Good luck to those getting results, remember if you don't get what you wanted/expected not to panic as there are so many options open, its not the end of the world! I remember the day I got my results, I was very happy receiving a BBB when I was predicted BCC, I put so much work Into the exams so it was nice to see it paid off
conLAD logan Posted 13 August 2015 Author Posted 13 August 2015 .....yeah I didn't do what I thought was great... CCD, but I got an unconditional from sheff hallam to do accounting & finance so I was unmotivated
ScouseFox Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 yeah technically I "failed" according to most teachers as I didn't get into my first choice uni. I've half trained as an accountant, earned money instead of debt and am moving into my own place with my own car and my own savings to start what is very nearly my dream job in a few weeks time. Have that teachers. And a levels. And the system. I win.
Finnaldo Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 PASSED C in English C in History D in Psychology Had made an almighty fvck up in my history coursework and got a U. Thought that was curtains but I got an A in the final exam to push it up to a C. I never got higher than a C in all the practice papers lol
ousefox Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Haven't they stopped the module system where by the time for of your last exams in some subjects you'd already done 75% of your A Level? That meant I was a little more relaxed on results day. Congrats Finnaldo.
Buce Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 My neice got the grades she needed, and she's coming to Leicester Uni.

SemperEadem Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 A level results night was a pretty legendary night out.
Voll Blau Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 "With my own car" sorry bro, but that doesn't exactly scream ballin' Plenty in their early to mid 20s would kill for what he has, you div.
ScouseFox Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 "With my own car" sorry bro, but that doesn't exactly scream ballin' yeah never said it did? wouldn't have enough money to buy a hot wheels set let alone a car if I was a jobless, just graduated student with a degree in business management type that the system tries to force you into these days.
Fox92 Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 "With my own car" sorry bro, but that doesn't exactly scream ballin' Plenty of people around our age would like to be in that position.
Swarles Barkley Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Remember getting my results 2yrs back. Couldn't get into warwick having got A*,A,A. Fvcking bullshit!
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 I got 3 A's, just graduated with a 1st from my law degree and still struggling to get an interview for a job. Shows the traditional way isn't necessarily better so the results don't determine your career.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 I remember this day last year, oh how disappointed I was. But I'm so glad it went the way it did now. In a group chat with some future fellow lse students and seeing the upset of those that didn't get in isn't nice and rings too true especially one girls who smashed her International Baccalaureate requirements with 42 points compared to the 38 requirement but got one point too low in a standard level so got rejected
Danno Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Didn't get the grades i wanted but been talking to Sheffield Hallam through clearing and they offered me a place in about 30 seconds . I was told that you'd be on the phone for ages and would have to speak for hours about your interest in the course.
Frank to be Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Plenty in their early to mid 20s would kill for what he has, you div. Fair enough, sometimes I forget how expensive and difficult even basic things are for the younger generation these days under this tory government
AKCJ Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 "With my own car" sorry bro, but that doesn't exactly scream ballin' tool.
TheSomersetFox Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Didn't quite make it into DMU but Derby have been sympathetic and accepted me . Bit pissed off tbh, tutor told me my History coursework was on course for an A, turns out I got a C. slag. gotta tell everyone ive been banging on about getting an A to that i actually didn't get said grade, fun

ScouseFox Posted 13 August 2015 Posted 13 August 2015 Plenty in their early to mid 20s would kill for what he has, you div. yeah but I wasn't intending to brag tbf. I was merely saying that a levels aren't that big a deal. From about age 15-18 you're pretty much told in school/college it's uni or maccies for ever. Just pointing out that I've got mates who have done three years of uni, got good standard degrees in things like psychology etc and its either the dole or asking mummy and daddy for a tenner so they can come the pub on a weekend. People in schools and even s lot of parents/careers advisors would drill into 17 year olds heads that it'll be me in the dole queue forever due to my lack of a degree. Just pointing out you can actually be in a very nice position (dream job vs potentially money making job, both want me) in a few years if you just try hard, all without a lecture or a 9 grand tuition fee in sight. ballin'

If you're not going to university then A levels are a waste of time. An apprenticeship route is far more beneficial to someone who has no intention of going uni then half the kids doing A level because that was the next step they were told to do. They go on to do a degree in something they're not that passionate in before becoming a manager at Boots. A lot of pupils in school and college arent given the right career guidance at all.
