Not quite a PL player yet but would certainly do a job for yourselves either at CB or RB. He's not the biggest or best defensively in the air but quick, strong, brave and solid in the tackle.

Would only be a loan I'd imagine.

As for Bamba, some of our fans loved him but we consistently leaked goals for a laugh with him at the back, eventually Pearson found out that Bamba, never in sight when a goal was conceded, was the common denominator. Absolute muppet of a defender.

Cheers.  We have a CB almost entirely in that mould already to be honest.  Possibly not entirely what we need.

Oddly, we used to ship goals for fun and then Sol joined and we suddenly found out how to keep clean sheets.

Ha!  Sol Bamba is making Sol Bamba look good.  He's been supreme since he joined.

That's what people here used to think, until we got in a decent defender and stopped conceding stupid goals consistently.

Players can improve and/or just play better for other clubs, under different managers.

Tom Lees was really not well liked at Leeds.  Went to Wednesday, helped them become the tightest defence in the league.  It just works out like that sometimes.  Sol is thrice the defender that Lees was for us but Wednesay fans wouldn't swap in a month of Sundays.

Funny old game, football.

Liam Moore has just come on for Bristol City as a 41st minute substitute at Reading. Playing in a 3 man central defence.

Loan expired after the game and he's now back with us. Shame it didn't work out for him at Bristol.

Had a chat with him after the game. Just wants to play football. I imagine he'll be back out on loan before January is done.

I hope he gets back to how he was playing when he was playing every week for us. Whether it's his confidence or whatever, he looked good enough when we got promoted and for the few early months of last season.

I remember the forum in meltdown almost when his agent was touting him as potential for Man Yoo I believe? Football is a cruel mistress and can bring people back down to earth with a massive bump!

Not good enough for the premier league at the moment and probably never will be. Wes is a different player playing alongside someone more experienced.

Did he fail to impress at Bristol then?
