New right back

All this bollox about he doesn't get cover

He is a fecking defender who should win way more of his 1 v 1 battles than he does never mind his total lack of awareness of what's going on around him

He is pants end of story

Too true Ramada. He was never overlapped today in the game he simply wasn't good enough to win his battle with Gradel, he has no positional sense - constantly went wandering inside, wanted others to move out and press his man for him and who knows what he was doing for their goal - he simply didn't track his man on a basic 1-2.

The best right back in the world cannot operate totally successfully if he is isolated.

Could it be a training ground issue, because if CR is having to coach Mayrez during a real game, is he (Mayrez) paying enough attention during training when clearly they will practice whatever system CR is going with for the upcoming match.

We need options there that's for real.

We COULD change shape just to cover our weakness but I think that would be a retrograde step. We COULD move Mahrez off the right and field a more defensively minded winger but, again, why compromise one of our best attacking options?

Whichever you cut it, I think we need someone who can play that position. No disrespects to RDL, he's just not ideal there and better teams than Bournemouth will exploit it.

Unless CR is intending to change our defensive shape (or our shape entitely) then I see us needing a rb as a matter of priority.

It is the area that opposition have identified as our weak spot.

I'm sure our game analysts will have also seen the opposition concentration on that flank.

Unless we recruit, and have been monitoring potential candidates,it will have to be addressed in training.

If we go with what we have and use a CB as alternative to RDL why not Liam?

We just need to go back to 352. Morgan Huth one other kante inler in the middle mahrez behind the strikers of vardy and oz wing backs schlup and albrighton. Think that is our best team. Just got back from Bournemouth we were very poor apart from the last 20 mins after their injuries. Delaat was awful everyone could see a goal was coming from his side. Positives kante looks a beast won the ball so many times. Morgan solid and schlup play probably his best game for us

Agree with Bluearmy 316, watched the game on a live stream and a back 3 is a better option, not sure if Was/Benny are capable enough alongside Wes & Huth, DeLaet wasn't helped by the early injury to Mahrez and in hindsight Ranieri should have replaced him earlier.....

Up the City.....

Didn't CR get slated for tinkering with a winning 442 formula.  Wouldn't it be tinkering to go to 352?  yes it worked for us late last year.  But if it is not a formation he is used to managing he shouldn't.

Skewed logic, surely. If 3-5-2 is our best formation then that's what we should play. Our squad and training staff are comfortable with it. Only Ranieri has to adapt to it; how can that be difficult for a coach with his experience?
