driving unless you can get a railcard.

Get a railcard if on the train... it saves you 1/3 off price every trip.

I don't know if its changed now but you couldn't use your railcards for any discounts before 9am unless its over £12. I used to commute to Birmingham for a placement whilst studying and I could never use it.

There's also no railcard if your over 24 and under 60 which is a bitch.

Get a season ticket. Although they are expensive as you pay in one lump sum, it works out cheaper. I'm commuting at the minute (looking for a place is harder than I imagined).

No discount during peak hours (i.e. commuting times) on East Midlands Trains, so you couldn't use it then. Had the same problem when doing Harborough to Derby last year.

It's 10am now, and there are a few railcards for adults, but they're usually based around travelling with two people which isn't much use for commuting to work.

We have Swan and Rushes/King's Head.

Kings head has Ken in playing bowl blood, hooters has half naked women walking round serving you beer.

Which would you prefer?

National express run a fairly regular timetable that is quite cheap, I used to travel back from Notts and I think on average I paid £4, once I got a last minute ticket for £2.80 but I think I just got lucky, takes about 45 minutes if I remember correctly so not too bad, the coaches are getting better but sometimes you get a fairly old one that's a little run down

I hate it when you're on the train to work and some weird babysitter has 45-seconds sex with an 11 year old on the seat next to you.
