Jakemoore Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Imagine this in 5 years time. RM - Mahrez CAM -Tom Lawrence LM - Gray CF - Dodoo We could be building a very good, young squad.
Corky Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 All the reports point to a player with real potential. I'd keep him in the squad should he join, no need to go back on loan. More options the better.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Great! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-trying-hijack-leicester-transfer-7107005
Guest Mee-9 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I hope we don't loan him back. I'd love to see him have a go at a few defences this season.
Buzzell Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Great! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-trying-hijack-leicester-transfer-7107005 Fuch off Martinez.
NewquayFox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Play him against Spurs next week in the Cup...... Up the City.......
BlueSam Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 With Birmingham being my first team club (the foxes being the club of all of my family and my second team!), I can tell you that getting Gray for 3.75 million is a great signing for any club. He's got bags of potential, is humble and also will work hard for the team defensively. Gutted to see him leave Birmingham. Even though he hasn't been on top form recently, he has still looked quality. Don't see any reason why you would loan him back to us though as some fans may give him abuse and he's already experienced enough in the championship. He will make a good impact from the bench for the Foxes this season

BlueSam Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 What are his main strengths please? Is he tricky, strong, quick? He's of a slim build but is actually 6 foot tall so is no lightweight, he's quick and is great at creating the extra yard to either get a pass or shot off. I wouldn't say he has tonnes of skills so don't expect him to be pulling of nutmegs all the time but can very easily get past most defenders with a quick step over
BlueSam Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Weaknesses would be his decision making sometimes, he's got a decent shot and pass on him but sometimes he chooses the wrong option. He always made up for that with his work effort though

BlueSam Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 He's played almost every week over the last 2 seasons for Birmingham as well, didn't start the last two games so to not botch up the the transfer deal with an injury because 3.75 mill is still big money to Birmingham.
BlueSam Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 He reminds me a bit of Zaha?Yeah that's a decent comparison, Zaha probably more refined and experienced atm though
weller54 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Yes, Zaha is the more finished article..hope the lad progresses well with us and gets straight into the first team squad!
BlueSam Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I hope so to! I will enjoy watching him play in this Leicester team, probably from the bench mostly though.
weller54 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 So you don't think he'll be loaned back to you as part of the deal as some are suggesting?
BlueSam Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 So you don't think he'll be loaned back to you as part of the deal as some are suggesting? I really am unsure what Leicester and Birmingham will agree but I see no benefit for Gray or Leciester in allowing him to return to Birmingham on loan mainly because some fans are resentful of him leaving and Gray knows that so may be reluctant to go back. Plus Birmingham have promoted a new winger from the youth academy and will want to give him game time. It's the opinion of most of the Birmingham fans but none of us know for sure!
Vardinhio Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Just seen Martinez out in a wine bar earlier, said he has no intention of bidding for him
TheUltimateWinner Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 If he has as many medicals as Cambiasso had then thats surely a sign he's good
Thracian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He reminds me a bit of Zaha? So we loan him out! We must have some damned good reserves I've never seen.
