yer-mah-rez Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Some of the stuff on here is embarrassing... As an aside apparently Liverpool have first dibs on him legally if they want him. They think they have the god given right to everything and everyone, forget about them we do.
TOMBlcfc Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Hilarious how people keep saying 'can't even get into the blues team' when he's actually been a part of every one of their league games so far this season (prior to january)
Devonfox1884 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 While I agree with the sentiment of your post 'yer-mah-rez', one of the main reasons that Gray hasn't left Birmingham is the fact that he doesn't want to leave the area and his life there. If he moves to us he can commute backwards and forwards daily, obviously something he couldn't really do moving further up north, this is what gives us the edge IMO.
smudger63 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Are we more of an attractive option than Everton? Well i think what we have done this season has at least given potential signings something to think about. Had it been before a ball was kicked this season, and a player had a choice of Everton or Leicester, the chances are he would have chosen Everton. Now i would hope that any potential signings will see us as a club on the up, with big ambitions for the future, which hopefully means we have a chance to compete with an Everton on a more equal footing.
Callabinho Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Our problem is always going to be being able to prove our longevity in the upper echelons of the premier league table or even staying in it. Agents will use other fallen clubs as examples of how things can go wrong. One thing you can say with Everton is that considering their longstanding affiliation in the premier league they're more likely to challenge for a top half finish more consistently than ourselves. That will always be our problem why competing with clubs of Everton's stature.

I think its a bit different in this case than if we were buying an established pro or some kid from overseas. He's a Midlands boy who lives with his parents and if he plays for us he can stay there. I'm not saying he wouldn't be able to afford the rent on his own place or anything but this will be his first big move and I suspect he'll be advised that as little upheaval as possible is a good thing. Plus, let's be honest, Liverpool is a shithole.
Gerard Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Evertonian here, I come in peace. Do you honestly believe..... "Surely, surely being able to stay put and play for a team already up in 2nd on 40pts under Ranieri is preferable to moving to Liverpool and playing for mid-table no-marks under Martinez. It can't be a hard choice, can it?" "if he chooses everton over us then life has no meaning." "Its a good job we are title challengers and all they are challenging for is mid table mediocrity then. Any footballer would be mad to go to Everton over Leicester under current circumstances." In all honesty congratulations on reaching the magical 40 points for the season, but do you really believe that your more of an attraction to a young player than going to a relatively consistent top ten finishing Premier League team? are you also going to tell me that a player would choose Leicester over playing with the likes of Lukaku, Deulofeu, Barkley, Coleman, Stones, McCarthy, Mori, Galloway and thats just the youngsters that are playing regularly. There are a host of senior players with top level experience to offer. Sorry lads and lasses but given the recent history of how good Everton are with youth players and nurturing them to a top level then this kid would be mad to choose LCFC over Everton. Anyway I'm not suggesting for one moment you will agree, but good luck with the second half of the season if your still up there at the end of the season I will doth my cap to you and congratulate (especially if it means Liverpool don't qualify!) Those are the same great players that have took you to the heights of 11th place? We don't need your arrogance coming on here telling us how this decision is a no brainer. 1985 is about thirty years that way mate <<<<<<<<<<< So may i politely tell you to......................
Babylon Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 "Consistent top ten finishes"... Finished bottom half last year, currently sits 11th. Names a load of players performing worse than ours and a whole back four with more holes in it than a sieve.
filbertstreet Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 bloody scousers trying to steal players now
ithuriel Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 The wheels wont come off our band wagon, you'll turn round and bricks will have replaced them :xmaslaugh:

Vardy > LukakuMahrez > Deulofeu Kante > Barkley Drinkwater > McCarthy Morgan > Mori Fuchs > Galloway Only Coleman and Stones would get into our team from those players. I'd say Lukaku too if I was comparing him to Ulloa but I'm not, Very poor basis for your argument there. Potential Champions League football or Everton? Not exactly a brain buster is it?
Gerard Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 6/5 in Leicester's favour in a combined XI? Schmeichel Coleman Fuchs Morgan Stones Mahrez Kante Barkley Deulofeu Lukaku Vardy
4everfox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 6/5 in Leicester's favour in a combined XI? Schmeichel Coleman Fuchs Morgan Stones Mahrez Kante Barkley Deulofeu Lukaku Vardy He's magic...you know-oh-oh! Gerard Deulofeu! Robbing b@st@rds.
4everfox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Martinez: Look at this old Division One table from 1985 Demarai. Impressed? Gray: I wasn't even born. Martinez: What about the last time we beat Leicester in the league in 2003? Gray: I was barely out of nappies. Martinez: At least our stadium is bigger though right? Gray: Its falling down mate. Claudio: Look at the current table Dimmy, we are 2nd. We also beat Everton a few weeks ago and our stadium which generates the most noise in England, is in pristine condition. Gray: Where do I sign?
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Some people's specs are so blue tinted it's funny. And I'm not talking about the Everton fan.
Frost Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Yeh Everton last beat us in 2003 because we've actually been in The Championship (and League One) for 10 years since around then. I'm not sure half a season (albeit a fantastic one) justifies your view that we're a much better proposition than Everton. Embarrassing.

Embarrassing. 2nd in the league with a great chance of qualifying for the Champions League pretty much justifies my view about who is the more attractive proposition currently.

yorkie1999 Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 The problem for any player is actually playing. I don't think he'll get a sniff of first team football at Everton whereas he would at leicester. In fact for that reason a lot of players will see us as a much more attractive proposition.

4everfox Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 ClownThanks for your insightful analysis.I love the contradictory of some posters on foxestalk. Whenever a Leicester fan goes onto another clubs forum they are abused yet when another clubs fan invades our forum with dross they are ignored and any Leicester fan who dares retaliate gets blasted. Brilliant! Please, continue to amuse me. I could do this all day.

If you're suggesting that he may not be ready for a Champions League tilt yet and needs time to develop lower down the ladder before moving to a more competitive team then I can't say I've seen enough of the lad to strongly argue against you, but I've heard he's pretty good.
foxinsox Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 I think that Everton will struggle to hold onto those players mentioned. Everton looks unlikely to make Europe this year, and most likely will be bottom half. Neither Lukaku nor Stones will be there next season, and quite possibly not second half of this one. Martinez is taking them nowhere. Tis a pity, I quite like them as a club.
Guest Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 Some of our fans are getting a bit big for their boots aren't they? Everton are definately bigger than us in the view of everybody except Leicester fans. They also have better players, despite our form in 2015 and their league position.
