I realise that some are pronounced in a way which isn't exactly obvious but it really gets my goat when commentators add them in on a whim. Good examples include Emre 'Chan' Can and 'aydin azzah' Eden Hazard. I know it might seem negligible but it really ****s me off.

filbertway Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 The only one that annoys me is Jagielka "yag-yelka", I don't know if he corrected them a few years ago, but I've only noticed it in the last 2/3 seasons. The rest don't really bother me, they probably just don't want to sound like dumb dumbs pronouncing a weird the way wot it looks like it should be said. I would try listening to merson more Seen the clip of him rounding up our game yesterday? Was and Okazaki (Ozazaki) were killing him haha.

I've never heard a commentator put on a Turkish accent, I wouldn't even know what that sounds like. But if his name should be pronounced Chan then say it Chan? Otherwise it's just flat out rude. Cazorla is pronounced Cathorla, right? So what's the problem? It's not like you'd expect a commentator to actually call Henry Henry and not On-ree. Probably the only real example of fake accents that I can think of are Jonathan Pearce in football and Eddie Butler in rugby, both like to add a silly amount of flair when saying Spanish and French names.

If you are going to try and pick holes in my post and criticise me the very least you can do is read it properly instead of being a **** and leaping to a snap decision without bothering to pay any attention to what was actually said. ****ing arse hole.
